Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the subject as noodle manufacture and give a broad sequence, including mixing, shaping, cooking and drying. However, the account is incomplete and contains important inaccuracies: the diagram shows vegetables and spices being added to cups, followed by labelling and sealing, not choosing a quantity or packing the cups into a large box. The overview is also vague (“different step”) rather than summarising the process’s main stages. Several transitions, such as the formation of dough sheets and strips, are difficult to follow. The response is 125 words, so it does not meet the 150-word minimum. To improve, describe the stages in order, include the final packaging steps shown, and avoid adding details not in the diagram.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a brief overview and two paragraphs describing stages. Sequencing phrases such as “In first step,” “In next level” and “In last steps” help signal movement through the process. However, progression is not consistently clear because several stages are compressed into long sentences joined mainly by “and then,” and references such as “this material” and “this substance” do not always make clear which product is meant. The overview also repeats the general idea of a process without guiding the reader through its main phases. Use one or two stages per sentence, connect them with precise sequencing language, and group the preparation, shaping and packaging stages into a clearer progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “mixer,” “flour,” “dough sheets,” “discs,” “cooked” and “dry.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the manufacturing stages. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making the description unclear: “making process of noodles in factorie,” “douch strips,” and “choose quantity of cups” do not express the diagram’s stages precisely. Spelling errors such as “procidure” and “loded” are also noticeable. Aim for accurate process verbs and nouns, such as “is transferred,” “is cut into strips,” and “is placed in cups,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences describing sequences, but the range is limited and errors are frequent enough to make some relationships unclear. For example, “the diagram represent” has subject–verb disagreement, while “Before complete this method noodles pass” lacks a correctly formed clause. In “this material divided into layers,” the passive verb form is missing, and “In last steps it packed” also needs a clear subject and passive construction. Articles and sentence boundaries are inconsistent, particularly in the long sentence beginning “In first step.” Practise accurate present-simple passive forms for process descriptions (“the flour is mixed,” “the dough is rolled”) and use shorter sentences with correct articles and punctuation.
