Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response identifies the diagram as a manufacturing process and gives a basic overview, noting that it starts with flour storage and ends with labelling. However, it reports almost none of the stages shown: mixing with water and oil is mentioned, but the rollers, dough sheets and strips, noodle discs, cooking and drying, addition of vegetables and spices, and final sealing are omitted. The overview also says there are eight stages, while the diagram presents a sequence that includes these intermediate operations, so the process is not adequately summarised. The response is also 99 words below the required minimum. To improve, describe the full sequence and include the key transformations and additions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening sentence is followed by an overview and then a sentence beginning “Initially”. This gives the reader a simple starting point, and “Overall” and “Initially” signal the purpose of each part. However, the account stops abruptly after the mixing stage, so there is no progression through the process or concluding description of the finished product. The final sentence is also incomplete in its construction, which weakens the connection between the mixer and its ingredients. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and the process, then guide the reader through each stage with clear sequencing expressions such as “Next”, “After this” and “Finally”.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses a small set of relevant process terms, including “manufacturing”, “stages”, “storage” and “mixer”, and the general topic is understandable. However, the vocabulary range is very limited because only the opening stages are described, and some choices are inaccurate or awkward. “The process of instant noodles” does not clearly express that noodles are being produced, while “large storage of flour” is not a natural description of the silos. There are also spelling errors in “diffrent” and “lableling”. Use precise process vocabulary from the diagram, such as “silos”, “dough sheets”, “strips”, “cook”, “dry” and “seal”, and check spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response shows some control of basic sentence forms, including the opening statement and the overview beginning “Overall”. These sentences communicate the general subject and the starting and ending points. However, the range is narrow, and the final line, “Initially, the large storage of flour is taken to the process of mixer - contains oil and water”, is grammatically incomplete: the dash introduces a fragment rather than a complete clause, and the relationship between the flour, mixer and ingredients is unclear. The overview’s phrase “starting from … to …” also uses an inconsistent construction. Practise complete passive sentences for process descriptions, for example, “Flour is transferred to a mixer, where water and oil are added,” and vary sentence structures to explain later stages.
