Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the process as the manufacture of instant noodles and describe several central stages, including mixing, forming sheets and strips, cooking and drying, and packaging. However, the account is incomplete and includes details not supported by the diagram. It does not clearly explain that flour is delivered from a truck to the storage silos, and it omits the rollers that shape the dough and the addition of vegetables and spices at the cup-filling stage. The opening also lacks a clear overview of the process as a whole. Claims that the noodles are preserved “for a while” and that labels show the company name and dates are not shown. To strengthen the response, report the full sequence accurately and avoid adding inferred information.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The stages are generally presented in chronological order, and transitions such as “The first step,” “after that,” “Moving on,” and “At last” help the reader follow the process. This gives the response a basic overall progression. However, nearly all the information is placed in one long paragraph, and several stages are crowded into lengthy sentences, making the sequence harder to scan. Some linking phrases are repetitive or do not clearly mark the relationship between steps. For example, “after this process” and “afterwards” occur close together. Organise the description into a brief introduction and overview followed by clearly grouped process stages, and use precise references to show what moves from one machine or stage to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “storage silos,” “mixer,” “dough,” “strips,” “noodles discs,” and “packaging,” so the reader can recognise the main subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the process unclear. “Products are taken from the storage silos” is imprecise because the material is flour, while “the discs went through the cooking and grying process” contains a spelling error and an unsuitable verb choice. “Conwear belt” is also difficult to understand. Aim for accurate process verbs such as “is transferred,” “is shaped,” and “is sealed,” and check spelling and collocations. Avoid adding unsupported technical details when describing labels.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts to connect stages using longer sentences and subordinate clauses, but these structures are often faulty, and sentence control is inconsistent. For example, “it is shown that how instant noodles are manufactured” has an incorrect clause pattern, while “water and oil are adding into the mixer” uses an incorrect verb form and preposition. There are also errors in agreement and tense, as in “it label and print,” and missing or incorrect articles in phrases such as “sent into mixer.” Several sentences run together without clear punctuation, particularly the long description beginning “The first step.” Use passive forms consistently for a process, check subject–verb agreement and articles, and divide the sequence into shorter, accurately punctuated sentences.
