Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the subject as instant-noodle manufacturing and mention several relevant stages, including flour storage, mixing, forming strips, adding vegetables and spices, and sealing cups. However, the account is incomplete and includes unsupported details: the diagram shows no drying of dough in a separate place, and it does not say that workers prepare the product for export. Important stages such as cooking the noodle discs in oil and drying them, and the addition of labels, are not clearly reported. The opening comments about people’s food preferences are not shown in the diagram. The response is also 142 words, below the required 150. To improve, give a concise overview of the full sequence and report only features visible in the process.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to move through the process in sequence, and phrases such as “after that” and “To sum up” signal progression. However, the response does not have a clear overall structure: general comments about fast food interrupt the process description, and the stages are compressed into one paragraph without a distinct overview. Some links are unclear, for example, “the dough sheets become in 3 process,” which makes it difficult to follow how the product changes. The repeated use of “after that” also makes the linking mechanical rather than precise. Organise the answer into an introduction and overview, followed by a step-by-step account, using clear links such as “next,” “subsequently,” and “finally.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “manufacturing,” “dough sheets,” “strips,” “vegetables,” and “sealing,” so the reader can recognise the general subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make the description harder to understand: “contenors” for containers, “Floor” for flour, and “species” for spices. Phrases such as “mix well” and “exist from some process” are also not natural ways to describe production. Aim to use precise process vocabulary and check spelling carefully. Useful terms include “is transferred,” “is rolled into,” “is cut into,” and “is packaged,” which can describe the diagram more accurately and reduce repetition.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to connect ideas with longer sentences, for example, “Floor transport one place to another place yet, in factories water or oil is mix in floor,” but these structures are often difficult to follow. Errors in verb forms and agreement occur throughout: “diagram depict,” “process consist,” and “is mix” should use correctly inflected forms. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “its very less time consuming food,” while several clauses are joined without clear punctuation. Most sentences rely on basic patterns, so the range is limited as well as inaccurate. Practise accurate passive forms for processes, such as “the flour is mixed with water and oil,” and build each stage as a clear, complete sentence.
