Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the process as having eight steps and mention several key stages, including mixing flour with water and oil, forming dough sheets and strips, cooking and drying the noodle discs, and adding vegetables and spices. However, the account is only partial: rollers and the movement from strips to discs are not clearly explained, and the final product is said to go to markets, which is not shown in the diagram. The overview is also unclear; “First of all flour and storage silos put into mixer” does not accurately describe the flour being stored in silos before entering the mixer. The response is 15 words below the required minimum. To improve, give a clear overview of the full sequence and describe each main transition accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response follows the general order of production, using markers such as “First,” “After,” “then,” and “At last,” so the reader can recognise a basic sequence. However, the stages are compressed into one paragraph, and the progression is sometimes difficult to follow because links between steps are unclear. For example, “Dough strips can be placed in two boxs” does not explain how the strips become noodle discs, while “The cups are used there” has an unclear reference. The opening and overview are also not separated from the process details. Organise the response into a brief overview and a sequenced description, and use clear references such as “these discs” or “the cups” to connect each stage.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “mixer,” “dough sheets,” “dough strips,” “noodles,” “vegetables and spices,” and “labelling and sealing.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the manufacturing stages. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear: “the factory of manufacturing noodles,” “two boxs,” “noodles dics,” and “labels table” do not describe the diagram naturally. Repetition of “noodles dics” and “then” also limits precision. Build a small set of accurate process verbs and nouns, such as “pass through rollers,” “are cut into strips,” and “packaging stage,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to describe a sequence using both short statements and linked clauses, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and many sentences contain errors that make the process harder to understand. Examples include “flour and storage silos put into mixer,” which lacks a clear subject and passive verb, and “Water and oil adds there to mixer,” where agreement and sentence structure are faulty. Passive forms are especially important for this process, but “its send” and “the noodles dics are cooking by oil” are not formed correctly. Articles, plurals, and punctuation are also unreliable. Practise accurate passive patterns such as “The flour is transferred to the mixer” and “The discs are cooked in oil,” then use these consistently in simple, complete sentences.
