Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the subject as noodle manufacture and attempt to describe several stages, including mixing, shaping, cooking, adding vegetables and spices, and sealing. However, the process is only minimally and sometimes inaccurately reported, so the reader cannot reliably follow how the stages connect. For example, the opening overview says “first stroage silos flour mixer into rollers,” while later you suggest that noodles are dried “in the vegetables” and cooked “into roolers.” The diagram shows flour moving from silos to a mixer, with water and oil added there, followed by rollers, cutting, disc formation, cooking and drying, then cup filling and sealing. Focus on this sequence and give a clear overview of its beginning and end; omit unsupported claims such as preparation taking “5 to 10 mintue” or comments about taste.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is an attempt to organise the response with an overview and sequencing words such as “Firstly” and “secondly,” and the reader can recognise that you are describing a process. However, ideas are not arranged in a consistently clear progression, and several stages are joined in ways that obscure their relationship. For instance, “the noodles drying in the vegetables” combines separate stages, while the account moves from rollers to sheets and strips, then returns to rollers without clearly explaining the sequence. The final comments about preparation time and taste also interrupt the process description. Use one paragraph for a concise overview and separate paragraphs for the stages in order. Link each stage with clear references such as “the dough,” “these strips,” and “the resulting discs.”
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary includes some relevant process terms, such as “mixer,” “rollers,” “dough sheet,” “noodles discs,” and “labelling,” which help identify the topic. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling and word-choice problems make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “stroage,” “cruched,” “passd,” “roolers,” and “soices.” Some expressions are also unsuitable for describing the diagram: “mix into low flame” and “noodles are costit of eight stages” do not clearly convey the pictured actions. Build a small bank of accurate process verbs and nouns, such as “transfer,” “form,” “cut,” “cook,” “dry,” and “seal,” and check spelling and collocations before finishing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to use sequencing clauses and longer sentences, but grammatical control is very limited, and errors frequently distort the relationships between stages. For example, “the noodles storage silos into flour and cruched in the rollers than added into mixer” lacks a clear subject and has an incomplete verb sequence. The opening, “the diagram below illustrates that how noodles are manufactured,” also uses an unnecessary “that” and an incorrect clause pattern. Subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries are inconsistent, as in “the noodles manufacturing process, consist of many stages.” Practise writing short, complete passive sentences for each stage, such as “The flour is transferred to a mixer,” then combine them with accurate time clauses. Use full stops and capital letters consistently.
