Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the process as instant-noodle production and mention several key stages, including flour storage, mixing, shaping, cooking and drying, adding vegetables and spices, and sealing. However, the account is only partial: the overview is unclear, and important details such as the dough passing through rollers to form sheets and strips, and the noodles being portioned into discs, are not explained accurately or fully. The sequence is also muddled in places, particularly the description of the mixer and rollers. The response is three words below the required minimum, and the informal closing about the task being difficult and the product being sold does not report the diagram. Add a clear overview and cover the stages in order using at least 150 words.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is a basic sense of sequence, supported by phrases such as “First of all,” “after that,” and “next,” so readers can recognise that you are describing a process. However, nearly the entire response is presented as one long, run-on sequence, with no clear paragraphing or distinct overview. Several transitions are used mechanically, and the order becomes difficult to follow in phrases such as “the last step was labelling + sealing the second part is to mixture silos.” The final comments about the task and selling the product also interrupt the process description. Organise the response into an introduction and overview, followed by stages grouped in order, and use full stops to separate each stage.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “storage silos,” “dough sheets,” “dough strips,” “noodles discs,” and “labelling + sealing.” This shows a basic ability to name stages and materials. However, the range is limited and several choices or forms are inaccurate, such as “mixture silos,” “vegetable + spices,” and “in the box,” which make parts of the process unclear. Spelling errors such as “procces,” “nooodles,” “lable,” and “tuf” are noticeable, while informal wording such as “much close to complete it” is unsuitable for an academic report. Use precise process terms and check spelling; for example, describe the noodles as being placed in cups rather than “in the box.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to connect stages in longer sentences, but sentence structures are limited and frequently faulty, which sometimes makes the sequence hard to understand. For example, “Overall their are eight different procces to manufactured noodles” has errors in subject–verb agreement and verb form, while “the last step was labelling + sealing the second part is to mixture silos” joins separate ideas without a grammatical connection. Tense and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “we can cook noodles discs … and then it was ready.” Use present simple passive forms for a process, such as “The flour is mixed with water and oil,” and separate each stage into a complete sentence with accurate punctuation.
