Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The given picture illustrates the process of how instant noodles are made.
Overall, the diagram shows the making of intant noodles. This process is done by different steps, it start from the flour loaded truck and passing from various procedure.
For instance, storage silos filled with flour and transfer into a mixture with water and oil. These mixture is passing through a rollers that is used to make paste and this paste passing through dough sheets that is used to convert mixture into dough.
Moreover, tha machine used cutters to make dough strips and send it to nodles disc. After that noodles discs are cooking then go for drying and there is a time when the cups are getting filled with vegetables with some spices. Furthermore, cups are filled with noodles and passing through lablelling and sealing proces. All the procedure is used to make instant noodles, user just filling that cup with hot water and for 2 minutes, the instant noodles is ready to eat.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the subject as a manufacturing process and report several key stages, including flour entering silos, mixing with water and oil, shaping through rollers, cooking and drying, and adding vegetables and spices before sealing. This gives the reader a relevant account of the process. However, the overview mostly repeats that noodles are made in stages rather than summarising the process’s main progression from raw ingredients to packaged cups. Some details are unclear or inaccurate: the dough sheets are formed by rollers, while the strips and noodle discs are produced in later stages; the response also adds instructions about pouring in hot water and waiting two minutes, which are not shown in the diagram. A clearer overview and more precise stage descriptions would make the coverage more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and a body that follows the manufacturing sequence. Connectors such as “Moreover,” “After that” and “Furthermore” help signal progression, and the reader can generally follow the stages. However, the overview repeats the introduction, and the body’s progression is sometimes obscured by unclear references, as in “These mixture” and “this paste passing through dough sheets.” Some linking phrases feel mechanical, while the final sentence shifts from describing the diagram to explaining how a consumer prepares the noodles. To improve, group the stages into clear production phases and use precise references to each product as it changes form.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “storage silos,” “rollers,” “dough strips,” “noodles discs,” “drying” and “sealing,” which helps communicate the main stages. There is also some attempt to vary wording with phrases such as “loaded truck” and “filled with vegetables.” However, several word choices and spelling errors reduce precision, including “mixture” for the machine or mixing stage, “nodles,” “lablelling” and “proces.” Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “the making of intant noodles” and “send it to nodles disc.” Aim for accurate process verbs and standard spelling, for example “is transferred,” “is cut into strips” and “is placed in cups.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and longer sentences, and the sequence is usually understandable. However, errors in verb forms, agreement and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “it start from the flour loaded truck and passing” does not maintain a consistent verb structure, while “These mixture is passing” has a number-agreement error and an awkward passive form. The sentence beginning “Moreover, tha machine used cutters” also lacks a clear, consistent description of the process. Use present simple passive forms consistently for a process diagram, such as “The flour is transferred,” “the mixture is rolled,” and “the strips are cut.” Shorter, carefully controlled sentences would improve accuracy while you build more complex structures.
