Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

THE FULLY MECHANISE PROCESS DEPICTS VARIOUS STAGES OF MANUFACTURING OF INSTANT NOODLES.

CONSIDER FROM AN OVERALL PERSPECTIVE IT CAN BE COMPREHENSIVELY OBSERVED THAT, THE 8 DISTICT STAGES OF PRODUCTION OF INSTANT NOODLES EMBARKS WITH FLOR STORED IN SILOS STORAGE AND CULMINATE THROUGH LABELING AND SEALING.

TO COMMENCE WITH, THE FLOUR IS WELL STORED IN SILOS STORAGE. FLOUR ARE FILLUP IN MIXER WITH ADDITION OF WATER AND OIL AND MAKE A DOUGH SHEETS . HOWEVER, IT IS PASSES THROUGH ROLLERS AND CONVERT INTO DOUGH STRIPS THROUGH ROLLERS. AFTER THAT, NOODLES CONVERT INTO DICS SHAPE.

NEXT SIGNIFICANT STAGE IS NOODLES DISCS ADDING DINTO COOKING OIL AND DRY IT. FURTHERMORE, NOODLES DISCS GETS DRY AND FILLUP INTO PAPER CUPS WITH ADDITION OF VEGETABLES AND SPICES. EVENTUALLY, WELL ORGENISED CUPS PASS TO THE LEBELLING AND SEALING MACHINE AND WELL PACKED AND READY FOR TO TRANSPOTY AT MARKETS.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the process as having eight stages and give a relevant overview, from flour storage to labelling and sealing. The main sequence is mostly represented: mixing flour with water and oil, forming sheets and strips, shaping noodle discs, cooking and drying, then adding vegetables and spices before packaging. However, some stages are compressed or unclear—for example, the rollers’ role in forming sheets and strips is not explained distinctly, and the final transport to markets is not shown in the diagram. The description also says the noodles are put into “paper cups,” whereas the diagram only labels cups. The response is 143 words, below the required 150, so it needs a little more detail to meet the task requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction and overview are followed by two paragraphs describing the production stages. Sequencing expressions such as “To commence with,” “After that,” “Next significant stage,” and “Eventually” help the reader follow the process. However, some links are mechanical, and the progression becomes difficult to track in sentences such as “However, it is passes through rollers and convert into dough strips through rollers.” The repeated use of “Furthermore” and “Eventually” does not always clarify how one stage connects to the next. Improve cohesion by grouping the stages in clear order and using precise references such as “the dough” and “the resulting discs,” while avoiding unnecessary transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a reasonable range of process vocabulary, including “stages,” “mixer,” “rollers,” “dough strips,” “cooking,” and “sealing,” which makes the topic clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “from an overall perspective” and “culminate.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “silos storage,” “fillup,” “dics shape,” and “well organised cups.” Spelling errors such as “distict,” “flor,” “orgenised,” and “lebelling” also reduce precision. Choose standard process verbs and nouns, for example, “stored in silos,” “shaped into discs,” and “packaged in cups.” This would make the description more natural and exact.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a passive-style overview and sentences linked with “and” and “after.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors make individual stages unclear. For example, “Flour are fillup in mixer” has problems with subject–verb agreement, verb form, and articles, while “it is passes through rollers and convert” combines incompatible verb forms. The sentence “noodles discs gets dry” also has agreement and tense problems. Aim for consistent present simple passive forms when describing the process, such as “The flour is mixed with water and oil” and “The dough is passed through rollers.” Check sentence boundaries and punctuation as well.
