Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the general subject and report several key stages, including flour entering storage silos, mixing, shaping, cooking and adding vegetables and spices. However, the account is only partial: it omits the rollers’ role in forming sheets and strips, and does not explain that the finished cups are labelled and sealed before emerging on a conveyor. The overview is inaccurate and unclear: “eight stage” is not supported by the diagram’s sequence, while “different values” and “huge amount” do not describe the process. The response is also 7 words below the required minimum. To improve, give a clear overview of the linear process and describe its final packaging stages accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic structure: an introduction, an attempted overview, and two paragraphs introduced by “Firstly” and “Secondly.” The stages are generally presented in sequence, so the reader can follow the broad movement from flour to packaged noodles. However, progression is weakened by unclear or repetitive references such as “the whole thing” and “the whole dough sheets,” and the overview does not effectively prepare the reader for the details. Some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated sequencing words and “Just like this.” Use paragraphs to group preparation, cooking and packaging, and connect each stage with precise references such as “the dough” or “the resulting noodle discs.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “storage silos,” “dough sheets,” “noodles discs,” “vegetables and spices,” and “labelling and sealing.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the manufacturing stages. However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate or misspelled expressions make the description difficult to interpret: “eifht stape,” “cip,” and “sough strips.” Phrases such as “huge amount” and “different values” are not appropriate for describing a manufacturing process. Choose precise verbs and nouns, for example “is transferred,” “is shaped,” and “packaging stage,” and check spelling and word forms carefully. Avoid vague phrases such as “the whole thing” when naming the material or product.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the sequence is sometimes expressed with passive forms, as in “it is ready for labelling and sealing.” However, grammatical control is weak and errors occur frequently. Examples include “The truck unload the flour,” “the whole process is goes,” and “the noodles was pack,” which show problems with subject–verb agreement, verb forms and passive construction. Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “in to the storage silos.Then.” Most sentences rely on basic structures, and attempts to combine stages often produce faulty clauses. Practise accurate present-simple passive forms for processes, such as “The flour is transferred” and “The noodles are cooked and dried,” and proofread punctuation.
