Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the general subject and give a basic start-to-finish overview, noting that the process begins with storage silos and ends with labelling and sealing. You also mention several stages in roughly the correct order. However, the response mainly lists stage names rather than summarising how production works. Important details are omitted, including flour entering the silos, water and oil being added in the mixer, the rollers forming sheets and strips, and the noodles being cooked, dried, and placed in cups with vegetables and spices. The overview also says the process ends with labelling and sealing, although finished cups emerge afterward. The response is 21 words below the required minimum. Add accurate process details and a fuller overview to address the task more completely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic overall shape: an opening, an overview, and a paragraph describing stages in sequence. This gives the reader some sense of the process order. However, progression is weakened by repeated framing such as “the diagram shows” and “the next step of this diagram,” which makes the description sound like a list rather than a connected account. The long final paragraph also repeats the same sentence pattern, and links between stages are limited. Organise the details into a clear sequence, using concise transitions such as “Next,” “After this,” and “Finally,” while avoiding repeated references to the diagram. A separate, focused overview followed by a logically grouped process description would make the organisation clearer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant basic terms from the diagram, including “storage silos,” “mixer,” “dough sheets,” “noodles discs,” and “labelling and sealing,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, vocabulary is limited and repetitive: “diagram,” “step,” and “process” recur throughout, and several phrases are awkward or imprecise, such as “complete processing step” and “cooking oil and drying.” There are also spelling errors, including “begining,” “ddigram,” and “diagrm.” Use more precise process verbs and vary the language—for example, describe ingredients being “fed into” the mixer and noodles being “cooked in oil and dried.” Careful proofreading would also improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Most sentences communicate a basic idea, and you attempt an overview and a longer sequence description. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently. The opening, “This diagram shows that how instant noodles are manufactured during process,” has an incorrect clause structure and is missing an article. In the overview, “the process … begining … and ended” does not maintain a consistent verb form. The phrase “the next step of diagram show that is this dough sheets” also has problems with articles, agreement, and sentence construction. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine stages with clauses such as “After the dough is rolled into sheets, it is cut into strips.” Check articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries when editing.
