Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the process as a sequence and give a basic overview by naming storage as the beginning and labelling and sealing as the end. Several relevant stages are also included, such as mixing flour with water and oil, forming dough strips, and adding vegetables and spices. However, the account does not clearly report the full sequence: it omits the formation of noodle discs before cooking and does not explain that the noodles are cooked in oil and dried. The statement that cooking and drying is the “main process” is not a clear overview of the process’s key features. Some details are also inaccurate or unclear, including “storing soil” and the claim that cups are arranged before the vegetables and spices are added. Describe each stage in order and distinguish the ingredients and actions more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the process. Sequencing expressions such as “To commence with,” “In the next stage,” and “In second last step” help the reader follow the general direction. However, progression becomes difficult to track where stages are compressed into unclear sentences, particularly “subsequently, is a mixer” and the transition from noodles discs to cooking. Some linking phrases are used mechanically, and references such as “this” do not always make clear which stage or material is meant. Organise the body into a clear chronological account, using one sentence for each connected group of stages and explicit references to the noodles, cups, and ingredients.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to a manufacturing process, including “mixer,” “dough strips,” “noodles discs,” “vegetables,” and “sealing.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the stages. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or spelling errors make parts of the description difficult to understand: “storing soil” appears to mean storing flour, while “spieces,” “lable,” and “folloing” are misspelled. Phrases such as “real cooking” and “send for sealing in market” are also imprecise or unnatural. Aim for accurate process verbs and collocations, such as “is transferred,” “is shaped into,” and “is packaged,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would make the stages clearer without requiring elaborate wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect stages in longer sentences, and the response includes some simple sequencing structures. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors frequently affect clarity. For example, “subsequently, is a mixer at this stage we mix” lacks a clear subject and has no effective punctuation between clauses. In “the next procedure start,” the verb does not agree with its subject, while “labelling and sealing is final stage” is missing an article. Tense and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “we add cooking oil in it and also dry ingredients.” Use consistent present simple passive forms for a process, such as “The flour is mixed with water and oil,” and separate complete clauses with appropriate punctuation. This will make the sequence easier to follow.
