Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the general subject and mention several relevant stages, including flour storage, mixing, shaping, cooking, adding vegetables and spices, and sealing the cups. However, the process is only partially reported: key steps such as forming dough sheets and strips, and the final packaged cups emerging on a conveyor, are omitted or unclear. The overview is also inaccurate when it says the noodles are “ready to eat”; the diagram shows manufacture and packaging, not preparation for eating. The final comments about expiry and making noodles at home are not shown in the visual and distract from the task. To improve, give a clear overview of the full sequence and describe only stages supported by the diagram.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organisation: an opening, an overview, a sequence of process details, and a concluding paragraph. The use of “To begin with” and “In conclusion” signals movement between sections. However, the progression is not consistently clear, and the process stages are compressed into a few difficult-to-follow sentences. For example, “Roller roller the mixture into dough strips” does not clearly connect mixing, rolling, and shaping, while “the go inside the machine” has an unclear reference. The conclusion introduces unrelated information rather than bringing the process to a close. Use one paragraph for the overview and one or two paragraphs to describe the stages in order, with clear links such as “next,” “after this,” and “finally.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary includes several relevant process terms, such as “flour,” “mixer,” “dough strips,” “noodles discs,” “vegetables,” and “labels,” so the reader can recognise the topic. However, the range is limited and some word choices or combinations make the meaning difficult to follow. Phrases such as “the factory work on it,” “roller roller,” and “add labelling and sealinng” are not natural descriptions of a manufacturing process. There are also spelling errors, including “spces” and “sealinng.” Aim to use precise process vocabulary and standard collocations, for example, “the dough is rolled into sheets” and “the cups are labelled and sealed.” Avoid repeating “add labels on it.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts a few longer structures, including “The dough strips shaped in noodles discs” and “the cups in which the noodles have,” but these are not controlled well enough to communicate the stages reliably. Errors occur frequently in verb forms, sentence structure, and agreement: “the noodles made from flour” lacks a finite verb, “the factory work” has incorrect agreement, and “The dough strips shaped” needs a passive verb form. Several sentences are fragments or joined without clear grammatical links, and the final sentence is difficult to interpret. Use the present simple passive consistently for a process, such as “The flour is mixed with water and oil” and “The cups are then labelled and sealed.” Short, complete sentences would improve accuracy and clarity.
