Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The diagram illustrates the manufacturing process of instant noodles.
Overall, this is man-made, linear process completes in eight stages, beginning with storage of silos with flour and ending at labelling and sealing product.
Firstly, the huge quantity of flour stored in storage silos. Then, flour mixed in mixture by adition of water and oil. The mixed material is moved to Dough sheets by the help of rollar. Basically the rollar worked to move farword ready flour to next proceses. After the material farworded to dough stripes to give shape to noodles. As well as noodles moved to next process the covare belt moved automatically. Noodels discs is sended the noodles for cooking. At the same place noodles cooked and dry. This cooking procedure of noodles containd on oil.
In contrast, the cooking process finshed and now time to proceed for packing. Vegetables and spices puted in cupes and mixed with noodles. Finaly, the cup mouth closed and labelin plus sealing process started. At the end, the manufacturing of noodles completed.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the process as linear and give its broad start and finish, then cover the main stages from flour storage and mixing through cooking and packaging. This addresses the task, and most details correspond to the diagram. However, the overview is not fully accurate: the process begins with flour being stored in silos, but it ends with finished cups emerging after labelling and sealing, rather than ending at the labelling stage. Some stages are also unclear or under-developed, particularly the transformation from dough sheets to strips and then noodle discs. The claim that vegetables and spices are “mixed with noodles” is not explicit in the diagram, which shows them being added as the cups are filled. A more precise overview and clearer reporting of each transition would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction and overview are followed by the production stages, with a separate paragraph for packaging. The sequence is generally easy to follow, and markers such as “Firstly,” “Then,” and “At the end” help guide the reader. However, progression becomes less clear in places because ideas are repeated or linked mechanically. For example, the explanation that rollers move the flour forward is followed by another description of material moving forward, while “In contrast” does not express a contrast between cooking and packing. Some references, such as “the same place” and “this cooking procedure,” are also imprecise. Use transitions that show sequence and cause more accurately, and group related stages without repeating information.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “storage silos,” “water and oil,” “dough sheets,” “noodles discs,” and “labelling and sealing,” so the reader can identify most stages. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “mixture” for the machine (better: “mixer”), “rollar,” “farworded,” “stripes” for “strips,” and “cupes.” Phrases such as “huge quantity” and “the cover belt moved automatically” are either unsupported by the diagram or not useful for describing the process. Aim for accurate process verbs such as “is transferred,” “is cut,” and “is placed,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and the passive voice is appropriate for describing a manufacturing process. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur often enough to make some stages unclear. For example, “this is man-made, linear process completes” needs an article and a passive construction, while “flour mixed in mixture” lacks a correctly formed verb phrase. “Noodels discs is sended” also has problems with agreement and the past participle. Try to use consistent present simple passive forms, such as “The flour is mixed with water and oil” and “The noodles are cooked and dried.” More accurate sentence patterns would make your sequence easier to follow.
