Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the diagram as a manufacturing process and mention several relevant stages, including storage, mixing, dough sheets and strips, noodle discs, cooking, and packaging. However, the account only partially reports the process: it does not clearly explain the sequence from flour entering the silos through to finished cups emerging, and the overview that the process “start[s] storage silos and flour and end[s] at the labelling sealing” is incomplete. The diagram also shows vegetables and spices being added to cups before labelling and sealing, rather than presenting these as separate final stages. To strengthen the response, give a clear overview of the start and end points, then describe each main stage in order, including the rollers, oil cooking and drying, and the finished product.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs for the earlier and later stages. This gives the reader some overall organisation, and phrases such as “Overall” and “Furthermore” signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within the process description is not consistently clear. For example, “dough sheets and rollers, Dough strips, and then noodles discs” lists items without explaining how one stage leads to the next, while “all these process complete and almost half” does not clearly connect to the sequence. Some linking phrases are also repetitive or awkwardly placed. Use a more direct chronological structure, with each sentence describing a transition, and use reference words such as “these strips” only when their meaning is unmistakable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “storage silos,” “dough sheets,” “dough strips,” “noodles discs,” and “labelling,” so the reader can recognise several stages. There are also attempts at less common phrasing, such as “mass manufacturing” and “final product.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make parts difficult to understand: “joint venture human and machines,” “finalizing product,” and “all these process different phases” do not express the intended meaning clearly. Spelling errors such as “togather,” “producation,” and “procdure” further reduce precision. Prefer straightforward process language, for example “the process involves both workers and machinery,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer constructions, including “The process is a joint venture human and machines which work togather for a single final product.” However, grammatical control is limited, and errors frequently affect clarity. Examples include “The process start storage silos,” “all steps is very important,” and “all these process complete,” where verb forms, agreement, and sentence structure are inaccurate. Several phrases also lack the grammatical links needed to show the sequence, as in “then followed by mixter and water + oil, come then dough sheets.” Use complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and practise passive forms suited to process descriptions, such as “The flour is mixed with water and oil” and “The dough is then rolled into sheets.”
