Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the topic as a step-by-step manufacturing process and mention several relevant stages, including storage, mixing, dough sheets and strips, cooking, adding vegetables, and packing. However, the account is only a partial and sometimes inaccurate summary of the diagram. It omits key stages such as forming noodle discs, the rollers, and drying, and it does not explain that water and oil are added to the mixer or that the finished product is labelled and sealed in cups. The overview is vague (“the significant things that are important”) rather than summarising the process from flour storage to sealed cups. The claims about delivery to shops and health effects are not shown in the diagram, so they distract from the task. Focus on the illustrated stages and report them accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic sequencing, using phrases such as “The first step,” “the second step,” and “after that,” so the reader can follow parts of the process. The response also separates the description from later comments in new paragraphs. However, progression is weakened by long, loosely connected sentences and repeated or unclear links, especially in “then the process still processing and it goes to the next step.” The final paragraph about health effects interrupts the process account rather than extending it. Organise the response into a brief overview followed by stages in order, and use clear links such as “Next,” “Following this,” and “Finally” without repeating them. Keep each paragraph focused on one purpose.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “storage silos,” “mixer,” “dough sheets,” “dough strips,” and “drying,” which helps convey the general subject. However, the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or repetitive: “the significant things that are important,” “mega machines,” and “they packed it” do not describe the diagram precisely. Some word choices also make the meaning unclear, such as “convert that into the cups,” when the diagram shows noodles and ingredients being placed in cups. Use specific manufacturing verbs and nouns, such as “form,” “cut,” “cook,” “dry,” “add,” and “seal,” and avoid unrelated claims that require vocabulary outside the process description.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example, “after that following the steps the dough sheets that converts into dough strips,” but these attempts are often faulty and make relationships between stages difficult to understand. Basic sentence patterns are present, yet errors recur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries: “The map show,” “it’s an very first,” and “The instant noodles is.” Several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation, particularly the opening and the long description of the process. Practise writing one clear sentence for each stage, checking subject–verb agreement and articles, and use passive forms where appropriate, such as “the dough is rolled into sheets” and “the cups are sealed.”
