Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the process as a sequence and give a useful overview, from flour entering the storage silos to the final labelling and sealing stage. You also report several central stages, including mixing, shaping the dough, cooking and drying, and adding vegetables and spices. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: the diagram shows flour moving from the truck into the silos, not being taken from the truck by an unspecified method, and the cups are filled with noodles before vegetables and spices are added. The claim that the noodles are made “frash” and that cooking removes “entigen” is not supported by the diagram. To strengthen the report, describe the stages precisely and avoid adding explanations or outcomes that are not shown.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the process in sequence. Connectors such as “To commence,” “In addition,” and “Finally” help signal progression, and the reader can generally follow the production line. This meets the expectation of a coherent overall arrangement. However, some links are mechanical or do not clarify the relationship between ideas: “On the other hand” suggests a contrast where there is none, and “Moreover, after that” combines two similar transitions. Several sentences also bundle multiple stages together, making the sequence harder to track. Use simpler, more precise links such as “Next” and “After the noodles are cooked,” and give each major group of stages a clear sentence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “Storage silos,” “Mixer,” “Dough sheets,” “Cooking and drying,” and “Labelling and sealing,” which helps identify the main stages. There are also attempts at more specific wording, such as “transform” and “converted.” However, inaccurate word choice and spelling sometimes make the meaning difficult to understand: “two mils,” “stright,” “Noddles,” “frash,” and “entigen” do not communicate the intended information reliably. Some phrases are also unnatural, for example “make Mixer” and “the Cups were empty to added.” Aim for accurate, standard process verbs and collocations, such as “is mixed,” “is rolled into strips,” and “is placed in cups.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the response includes sequencing clauses such as “after adding all the material in the cups.” However, control of verb forms and sentence structure is inconsistent. For example, “the Flour have taken” needs a passive form such as “the flour is taken,” while “the process are Labelling” has a subject–verb agreement error and an unclear construction. The sentence beginning “Moreover, after that the added some water” is missing a clear subject and verb pattern. Articles and plurals also need attention, as in “the instant noodles are ready” after a singular process description. Practise using consistent present simple passive forms to describe each stage, and check that every clause has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
