Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the topic and attempt to describe the process from ingredients to a finished product, including mixing, shaping, drying, adding vegetables and spices, and labelling. However, the account only partially reports the diagram: the overview says there are eight steps but does not clearly summarise the main stages, and several details are inaccurate or invented. For example, the silos do not mix water and oil; these enter the mixer, and the diagram does not say the disc shape saves space or increases production. The sequence of dough sheets, strips and discs is also unclear. The response is one word below the required minimum. To improve, give a precise overview and report the stages in order without adding unsupported explanations.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction and overview are followed by descriptions of earlier and later stages. Sequencing phrases such as “The first things,” “After a while,” and “The last step” help the reader follow the general direction of the process. However, progression is not consistently clear: the overview’s phrase “start ingredients lasting supermarket shelf” is difficult to interpret, and the transition from dough sheets to discs skips or blurs important stages. Some links are also awkward or unclear, such as “Only after happen puting proces.” Organise the body in the diagram’s exact sequence and use clear references to each stage, with simple links such as “Next,” “After this,” and “Finally.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “storage,” “dough sheets,” “Rollers,” “vegetables,” and “labelling,” so the reader can recognise the general subject. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, for example “nudles,” “sillos,” “sunstance,” and “mechine.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “puting proces of the noodles cup” and “labelling the logo.” Use the diagram’s specific terms consistently, including “dough strips,” “noodle discs,” “cooking and drying,” and “sealing.” Check spelling carefully and choose accurate process verbs such as “are added,” “are cooked,” and “are sealed.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the response generally communicates that the noodles pass through a sequence of stages. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and articles. For example, “The diagram represent” needs subject–verb agreement, while “which will be mix water and oil together” has an incorrect verb construction. The sentence beginning “Only after happen” is not grammatically complete, and “When shaping proces finish” lacks a clear subject and correct verb form. These errors sometimes make the process hard to follow. Practise accurate passive forms for manufacturing descriptions, such as “The flour is mixed” and “The cups are labelled and sealed,” alongside clear, complete sentences.
