Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the process as having eight stages and mention several relevant steps, including mixing, forming dough sheets and strips, cooking and drying, adding vegetables and spices, and sealing the cups. However, the account is only partial: it omits the initial flour delivery into the silos and the final emergence of finished cups, and some stages are unclear or inaccurately described, such as saying the silos are blended with the mixer. The overview, “all the method performed best,” does not summarise the process meaningfully. The response is also 23 words below the required minimum, limiting the detail available. To improve, give a clear overview and describe the sequence accurately, including the rollers and the finished product.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic sequence, signalled by phrases such as “first of all,” “In next step,” “Moreover,” and “In the end,” so the reader can follow parts of the manufacturing process. Paragraphing also separates some stages from the closing statement. However, progression is uneven: the opening sentence is difficult to interpret, and the final “Overall” sentence repeats the number of steps without providing a useful summary. Some links are mechanical, while transitions between stages are abrupt; for example, the move from dough sheets to strips and discs is compressed into one sentence. Organise the response into a concise overview followed by clearly ordered stages, using references such as “these sheets” to connect ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “storage silos,” “dough sheets,” “dough strips,” “noodles discs,” “vegetables,” and “spices.” This gives the response a minimally adequate range for describing the process. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “making … are manufacturing,” “the storage silos was blend,” and “the manufactured of instant noodles.” Spelling errors in “dryed” and “delecious” also reduce accuracy. Some expressions, including “performed best,” do not convey a clear meaning in this context. Build a more precise process vocabulary and use standard forms such as “manufactured,” “dried,” and “delicious”; prefer natural phrases like “the noodles are cooked in oil.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts to describe a sequence using both simple clauses and some longer constructions, for example, “In the end the last step is labeled and sealing the cups.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make several sentences difficult to understand. Examples include “The diagram reveals the making of instant noodles are manufacturing,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “the storage silos was blend,” which has incorrect agreement and passive form. Tense and sentence construction are also inconsistent in “first of all prepare the flour” and “In the readymade cups mixed some vegetables.” Practise forming accurate passive sentences for process descriptions, such as “The flour is stored in silos” and “The cups are labelled and sealed,” and check agreement and punctuation.
