Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify several central stages, including flour storage, mixing with water and oil, shaping the dough into sheets and strips, forming noodle discs, frying and drying, and adding vegetables and spices. However, the process is only partially reported: the account does not clearly explain the final labelling and sealing stage or the finished cups leaving on a conveyor. It also adds unsupported steps, such as transport to local shops and homes, cooking by the consumer, and claims about labour, oil quality, and environmental control. The overview is unclear and does not summarise the process accurately. The response is also five words below the required minimum. To improve, describe the diagram’s complete sequence and avoid adding information that is not shown.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response follows a broadly chronological order, so a reader can recognise the movement from flour storage towards the packaged product. However, the progression is difficult to follow because nearly all information is placed in one long paragraph and linked with repeated or inaccurate transitions such as “after that,” “furthermore,” and “next.” Some links do not clarify the relationship between stages, and the shift to shops, homes, and cooking disrupts the process description. The conclusion also introduces unrelated points rather than bringing the sequence together. Use separate paragraphs for an overview and the detailed stages, then connect each stage with a small range of precise sequencing expressions. Clear sentence boundaries would make the order easier to understand.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “mixer,” “rollers,” “dough sheets,” “dough strips,” “discs,” and “labelling plus sealing,” which helps convey the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are unnatural or unclear, such as “expandable series,” “discs shaped,” and “maintain situation.” Repetition of “furthermore” and “next” also makes the description less precise. Some expressions, including “storage house,” do not match the diagram’s terminology as well as “storage silos” would. Build a bank of accurate process verbs and nouns, such as “is transferred,” “is shaped,” and “is packaged,” and use them consistently to describe the stages.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
There are attempts to connect stages in longer sentences, but the response relies heavily on a single extended sentence pattern, and errors frequently make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “which method are used to prepared” has problems with clause structure and verb form, while “water and oil added” is missing an auxiliary verb. Agreement and tense are also inconsistent in phrases such as “labelling plus sealing happened” and “cooking occur.” Punctuation is insufficient, with several stages joined without clear sentence boundaries. Practise writing short, complete passive sentences for process descriptions, such as “The flour is transferred to a mixer” and “The noodles are then fried and dried,” before combining ideas with accurate clauses.
