Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The following diagram show the manufacturing of instant noodles in 8 different steps. In first step flour is store into storage silos. Then in second step of instant manfacturing of noodles add into mixer with adding water and oil which mix well and pass through from the rollers.
In third step after the mixture flour passed through the dough sheets and in four step dough cuts into strips and passed into noodles discs which convert the dough strips into noodles discs.
In the sixth step noodles discs cooked into oil and then drying for two to 3 min. In seventh step noodles are packed into the cups which customers are like vegetable or spices. After the packing in eight step noodles cups gave labelling which noodles is this vegetables or spices and sealing them for the sell to the customers.
This is the procedure of manufacturing instant noodles which divide into total eight steps.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the process as having eight steps and mention several key stages, including flour storage, mixing, shaping, cooking and drying, and adding vegetables or spices before labelling and sealing. However, the account is only partially accurate and leaves important stages unclear. For example, the dough is formed into sheets, then strips, and then noodle discs; your description compresses these transitions and does not clearly explain the rollers’ role. The diagram shows vegetables and spices being added to cups, rather than noodles being packed into cups that customers choose. The stated cooking time of “two to 3 min” is not shown in the visual. A clearer overview and a more accurate account of the sequence and final packaging would make the summary more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The stages are presented in a broadly chronological order, and sequencing phrases such as “In first step,” “In third step,” and “In seventh step” help the reader follow the process. The final sentence also attempts to summarise the overall procedure. However, the response is arranged as one paragraph, and some transitions are difficult to follow because several stages are combined in a single sentence. For instance, the sentence about dough sheets, strips, and noodle discs does not clearly separate the transformations. There is also some repetition of “step” and “noodles.” Grouping the stages into a short introduction and logically connected process paragraphs, while using clearer links between each transformation, would improve progression and cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “storage silos,” “mixer,” “rollers,” “strips,” “noodles discs,” “labelling,” and “sealing,” so the reader can recognise many parts of the diagram. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning unclear. “Flour is store into storage silos” and “dough cuts into strips” do not express the intended actions naturally, while “which customers are like vegetable or spices” is difficult to interpret. There are also spelling errors such as “manfacturing.” Choose precise process verbs such as “is stored,” “is cut,” and “is shaped,” and use “vegetables and spices” to describe the ingredients added to the cups.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts to describe a sequence using both simple sentences and longer clauses, and the overall process can generally be understood. However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “The following diagram show” needs subject–verb agreement, while “flour is store” and “noodles discs cooked” have incorrect or missing verb forms. The sentence beginning “Then in second step” also lacks a clear grammatical structure, and the final clause “which noodles is this vegetables or spices” is difficult to parse. Practise consistent passive forms for processes, such as “is mixed,” “are cut,” and “are sealed,” and check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
