Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You identify the subject and give a broad start-to-finish outline, mentioning flour storage, mixing, rollers and dough stages. However, the report is incomplete: it stops while describing the noodle discs and omits the later cooking and drying, addition of vegetables and spices, and cup labelling and sealing. The overview is also unclear and includes inaccurate details: the flour is delivered to storage silos, but the diagram does not show it being transported to a factory, and the noodles are cooked in oil rather than baked. The response is also below the required 150 words. To improve, cover the full sequence and give a concise, accurate overview of how raw ingredients become sealed cups of noodles, without adding unsupported steps such as baking.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response, beginning with an introduction and then moving into a description of the process. Phrases such as “Overall” and “the third stage” show an effort to guide the reader through the information. However, the progression becomes difficult to follow: the overview mixes stages with details, and the final sentence breaks off at “the fifth stage is nood”. There are no clear paragraphs separating the overview from the process description, and links between stages are often missing or unclear. Organise the report into an introduction, a brief overview, and a complete sequence of stages, using clear transitions such as “next”, “after this” and “finally”.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses some relevant process vocabulary, including “storage silos”, “mixing”, “rollers”, “dough sheets” and “labelling and sealing”. This shows a basic ability to describe the diagram’s subject. However, the range is limited, and several spelling or word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, including “diagrame”, “whol”, “prcess”, “improtat” and “stips”. Some expressions are also imprecise: “getting baked” does not accurately describe the diagram’s cooking-in-oil and drying stage, while “get shape” is repeated without specifying how the dough changes. Check spelling carefully and use precise process terms such as “is formed into”, “is cut into strips” and “is dried”.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to use both simple statements and longer structures, for example, “the process encompasses 8 fundamental steps begin from storage of flour to labelling and sealing.” However, the longer constructions are often incomplete or incorrectly formed, and the response contains frequent errors in sentence boundaries, verb forms and articles. In “After mixing the ingredients together and getting baked, this pass from rollers,” the subject and verb relationship is unclear, and the sentence does not form a complete, accurate description. Capitalisation at the start of sentences is also inconsistent. Use complete sentences with a clear subject and passive forms suited to a process, such as “The flour is mixed with water and oil before the dough passes through rollers.”
