Student answer (Band 5.5)

this image depicts the production of instant noodles

from the raw materia which is flour to the end product.

Overall, the manufacturing of noodles has eight-stage processes, which start with storgage silos where flour are been stored and end with label+sealing when the final product is ready to be transport to where people can buy and consume them.

The process start with flour inside the storage silos been poured inside a mixer which contain water and oil. After properly mixed, the mixed flour is transfered into dough sheet with a roller which roll the flour. The rol flour is then sent into dough strips which strips the flour into muitiple strands of flour.

this strands of flour is transfer to noodles disc which gives the flour a shape of noodles. Then the next process is cooking and dry whwre the noodles will be cooked and dried.the cooked and dried indomie will be poured inside a cup, vegetables and spices will be added to it. After that comes the last process which is sealing labelling which is done when the indomie is ready to purchase by comsumers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the process as beginning with flour storage and ending with labelling and sealing, and you cover the main sequence from mixing through cooking and drying to cup preparation. This gives the reader a relevant account of the diagram. However, some stages are not fully or accurately described: the dough is formed into sheets and then strips by machinery, while your wording that a roller “roll[s] the flour” and that the strips “strip the flour” is unclear. You also say the final product is ready to be transported to shops, which is not shown. To strengthen the response, describe the key transformations precisely and include the final cups emerging on a conveyor.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and a chronological description. Sequencing expressions such as “After properly mixed,” “Then,” and “After that” help the reader follow the stages. However, progression is occasionally disrupted by unclear references, particularly “this strands of flour” and “it” in the sentence about adding vegetables and spices. The overview also combines the final stage with an unsupported comment about transport and consumption. Paragraphing is present but the process description would be easier to follow if each sentence clearly identified the material or product being processed. Use consistent transitions and check that pronouns have an unmistakable reference.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant process vocabulary, including “storage silos,” “mixer,” “dough sheets,” “dough strips,” “cooking,” and “sealing.” This is enough to communicate the general subject and sequence, but the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate. For example, “the rol flour” and “muitiple strands of flour” do not describe the stages naturally; the material becomes dough and then noodle strips. “Indomie” is a brand name rather than a suitable general term for the product, and “ready to purchase by consumers” is an awkward expression. Choose precise process terms and vary verbs such as “form,” “cut,” “cook,” and “package.” Proofread spelling carefully, as errors such as “storgage” and “comsumers” are noticeable.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a relative clause in “a mixer which contain water and oil” and a sequence of linked process steps. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries reduce accuracy. For instance, “flour are been stored” should use a singular or uncountable subject with a correct passive form, and “the process start” needs subject–verb agreement. In “the cooked and dried … will be poured,” the tense does not fit a process description, which normally uses the present simple. Some sentences run together, as in the cooking-and-drying section. Practise accurate passive constructions and punctuate each stage as a complete sentence.
