Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover the main sequence from flour storage through mixing, shaping, cooking, and packaging, and your overview identifies the process as mechanised. Most stages are reported accurately, including the addition of water and oil, the formation of noodle discs, and the addition of vegetables and spices. However, some details are unclear or not fully grounded in the diagram: “distribution” and “distribute to the market” are not shown, and the overview could more clearly summarise the transformation from flour to sealed cups. The rollers’ role in producing sheets and strips is also described imprecisely. To strengthen the response, give a concise overview of the key stages and report only what the diagram depicts.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the earlier and later stages. Sequencing phrases such as “In the first phase,” “In the next phase,” and “Finally” help the reader follow the process. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and sentence boundaries interrupt the flow—for example, “Then mixer pass through out the rollers(stage 3). with dough sheets. which is cuts…” The final “In summary” repeats the overview rather than adding a clear concluding point. Use complete sentences and connect each stage more smoothly, while keeping the chronological order. Clearer links between the rollers, dough sheets, strips, and discs would also improve progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “storage silos,” “dough sheets,” “noodles discs,” “cooked,” and “sealed,” so the reader can identify most stages. There are also attempts at more specific terms such as “mechanized.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “Prodution,” “placeed,” “addded,” and “mecchanized.” Some expressions are unnatural or imprecise, such as “packing with cups,” “mixer pass through out the rollers,” and “cups noodles.” Aim for accurate process collocations and consistent word forms: for example, describe dough as being “passed through rollers” and noodles as being “placed into cups.” Proofreading spelling would make your vocabulary clearer and more reliable.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including the overview sentence and the sequence “Before being placed into cups.” However, errors in sentence structure, verb forms, articles, and punctuation occur in several places. For example, “The illustrate diagram the process” lacks a correctly formed verb, while “From there is it mixer” has an unclear structure. In “vegetables and spices are addded,” the passive verb form is incorrect, and “the cups are labelled and sealed … and distribute” does not maintain parallel verb forms. Sentence fragments such as “with dough sheets” and “which is cuts” also disrupt accuracy. Practise complete passive constructions for process descriptions, and check subject–verb agreement and punctuation when joining stages.
