Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify the process as manufacturing instant noodles and give a relevant overall direction, from flour and dough preparation to packaging. However, the report stops after the mixer stage, so it omits most of the diagram: rollers forming sheets and strips, shaping noodle discs, cooking and drying, adding vegetables and spices, and sealing the cups. The overview also says the product is supplied to retail markets, which is not shown. The response is substantially below the required 150 words, leaving the task only minimally covered. To improve, describe the full sequence in order and include a concise overview that captures the transformation from raw flour to finished cups.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic, understandable structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph beginning the first production stage. Sequencing is signalled with phrases such as “beginning with” and “It is then,” which helps the reader follow the limited information provided. However, the account ends abruptly after the mixer, so there is no progression through the remaining stages or concluding description of the finished product. The paragraphing also does not yet support a complete process report. Develop the body into a continuous, ordered account, using clear links such as “next,” “after this,” and “finally,” while ensuring each reference to a stage is unambiguous.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “manufacturing,” “storage silos,” “mixer,” “sealing,” and “labelling,” and the main subject is clear. There are noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, however: “floor” is used for “flour,” “eddible oild” for “edible oil,” and “retailing markets” is an unnatural phrase. “Instant noodles is produced” also reflects an inaccurate word form, though the agreement issue belongs under grammar. The limited range partly reflects the very short response. Use the diagram’s precise terms, such as “dough sheets,” “strips,” “noodle discs,” and “cooking and drying,” and check spelling and natural collocations before finishing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response includes both simple sentences and a more developed overview sentence with a participial phrase (“beginning with making dough…”), showing some structural variety. Meaning is generally recoverable, but there are grammatical errors: “instant noodles is produced” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “where water and edible oil is added” should use a plural verb because two ingredients are added. The final sentence is incomplete, ending after “added” without a full stop or continuation, which makes the account feel unfinished. Aim for consistently complete sentences and check agreement, especially when the subject contains multiple items. A wider range of accurately controlled passive forms would also suit a process description.
