Student answer (Band 5.5)

Several people argued that advertising is incredibly successful at persuading us to buy things, while other believe that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it both shows different poit of view.I generaly believe that advertising is essential because it can attract people but nowdays its very common various people cannot pay attention to it.

On the one hand, althought advertising is more common in nowdays and every bussines should require to advertise its product.Advertising is crucial that brings a lot of people to buy new things and to build intrest in the people to try new products and to remind new things.Such as if i start my online bussiness like clothing bussiness i advertise this product by running a campaing. In bussiness the aim of advertising is to show product advantages and bring out a real customers. Its simple if people khnows this then buy it.

On the other hand, several believe that advertising is not essential for product because these people are not intrested in it.They donnot pay attention to it they think it time consuming and some believe its common. For instance nowdays advertising are more common every type of busssines do advertise their product so people donnot pay attention to it they skip if product are not related to their needs.

From my perspective advertising is more important for any type of bussiness due to this a large numbers of people khnowledge about it.Due to this a chance of increasing sales grow.

To sum up, in the modern age every of bussines need to advertise its product but some people not pay attention to it because they have no intrest in it and sometimes product not match their needs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both views and give a clear overall preference: advertising can attract customers, although its prevalence means some people ignore it. The examples about a clothing business and people skipping irrelevant adverts are relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The claim that advertising “brings a lot of people to buy new things” is asserted rather than explained, and the opposing view is mainly described as people finding adverts common or time-consuming. Explain more fully how advertising persuades consumers and why repeated exposure can make them tune it out. Your position is present, but the conclusion mostly repeats earlier points rather than drawing the two views together.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the two sides easy to identify. Some links, however, are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Due to this” is repeated in the opinion paragraph, and “Such as if” does not connect the example smoothly to the preceding point. The opening sentence also runs the two views together without clear punctuation, making the relationship harder to follow. Use linking phrases selectively and make each paragraph progress from a main claim to an explanation and example. Clearer sentence boundaries and references would improve the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “persuading,” “advertising,” “product advantages,” “customers,” and “increasing sales.” These choices communicate the general subject and show some attempt to discuss business and consumer behaviour. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make the writing less precise, such as “build intrest in the people,” “a real customers,” and “a large numbers of people khnowledge about it.” Repeated use of “common,” “people,” and “product” also limits flexibility. Work on accurate topic collocations and spelling, and choose more precise terms for consumer responses, such as “capture consumers’ attention” or “influence purchasing decisions.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex structures, including a contrast with “while” and clauses introduced by “because” and “if.” These attempts show some range, but complex sentences are often difficult to control, and errors recur across the response. For example, “other believe” lacks subject–verb agreement, while “every type of busssines do advertise” has agreement problems; “advertising are more common” also uses an incorrect verb form. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are sometimes missing, particularly in the introduction, where two ideas run together. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly attached subordinate clause, then check agreement, articles, plurals, and punctuation.
