Some people say that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. Other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
A debate exist between individuals regarding advertising is highly triumph at influence us to purchase things. Meanwhile , proponents argue that advertising is unpopular that most of people don't pay attention on it. Although the supporters of the former viewpoint have their own logical reasoning, I find the latter viewpoint to be more convincing, and both perspectives will be discussed in the following paragraphs.
The advocates of the former viewpoint consider that advertisements encourage us to purchase things or items. This perspective is based on the belief that advertisements often provided information regarding discount coupons offer by company or any website. Apart from this, it also provided us the information about new brand that raises it's high demand in the market and that recently launched their new items or upgrade their old items. Although, it gives us knowledge about currently newly items . Though this, one can became a reluctant shopper because it offers enormous products through several companies that insist us to buy it without any kind of need . Moreover, it also facilitate us with newly advanced things that we often after looking up. Hence, it assist us with advanced technology and newly products.
However, others, including myself, reckon that due to fast paced lifestyle of individuals. Most of people are equip with their jobs and works. Therefore, they doesn't have enough time to look after the advertisements. They think it inappropriate and a wastage of time . While watching streaming platforms or entertaining videos , they usually ignore the advertisements because in this contemporary society people are often less patient and skipped it. They might think about it as a kind of distraction. Consequently, people no longer pay attention to it.
To conclude, it is clear from the above discussion that people assume about the advertisements that persuades us to buy things have their own valid argument; however, I believe that advertising is so common that no-one pay longer attention to it because of their hectic lifestyle and impatience.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding advertisements providing information is stated, but the explanation remains superficial. The essay covers all parts of the prompt, but the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band. The position is consistent, but the reasoning in the second body paragraph is slightly underdeveloped, relying on generalisations about 'fast-paced lifestyles' without providing concrete examples or deeper analysis of why this leads to ignoring advertisements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'However', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude', but they are sometimes used mechanically or incorrectly (e.g., 'Though this, one can became...'). Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences is sometimes disrupted by grammatical errors. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved to ensure a smoother transition between the ideas presented.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'highly triumph at influence' instead of 'highly successful at influencing' and 'most of people are equip with their jobs'. These errors occasionally impede the flow of the text. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the lack of control over word forms and collocations limits the score. More precise vocabulary would enhance the clarity of the arguments.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('A debate exist', 'they doesn't have'), incorrect verb forms ('one can became', 'advertisements often provided'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is generally clear despite these errors, the frequency of mistakes in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. The student should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage to improve accuracy.
