Student answer (Band 6.0)

Few member of society argue that advertising is highly best way at encouraging us to buy things. other people consider that advertising s so common we no longer gives interest to it. Nowadays, advertising has become an important part of people's daily lives. firstly I will discuss both sides and also give my opinion.

on the hand I describe about peoples who urge to buy online things. because first reason is that majority of individuals at this modern time have mobile phones and all of them are using mobile phones. they also watch adds on mobile For example my father have a mobile while scrolling he watch a add about watches collection adds attracts my father and my father order this watch for himself. another reason is that now time is modern peoples have their bank account in their mobiles when he likes anything on adds they ordered them and give payment fast by their bank accounts. For instance I gave my example own I saw a helmet on Instagram add I ordered them and give their full payment online.

In contrast members who think adds is common he think like that because the reason is majority of adds if we open Instagram we watches adds like Facebook and other social media applications in this ways adds are do not attract peoples instead they are tired from it I gave example about this a boy who open his mobile for scrolling he watches some adds firstly he enjoyed it then he tired off . Another reason is that Time duration peoples do not have more time to spend on mobile but when he opens for watching their favorite videos so he faces adds Because they are tired, they will prefer to skip advertisements. For instance employ who works at a factory and work for a whole day and have to watch mobile before sleeping he skip adds as soon as possible because he watches his attractive drama.

In my opinion I prefer those peoples who think adds is a common thing and do not attract it Due to this a scheme by company owners and adds developers we try to away from this since we spend our money on negative thing.

In conclusion although advertising can encourage some people to buy products, I believe that it is no longer as effective as before. This is because advertisements are everywhere, and people have busy daily routines, so they usually ignore or skip them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion, meeting the requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and relies heavily on personal anecdotes rather than broader, more analytical arguments. While the position is consistent, the explanation of why advertising is 'common' or 'successful' lacks depth and academic tone. The conclusion effectively summarizes the stance, but the overall development of the arguments remains at a basic level, often focusing on specific examples like 'my father' or 'a boy' rather than exploring the societal implications of advertising. To improve, focus on expanding the reasoning behind these trends with more generalized, analytical observations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'on the hand' is used incorrectly, and transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt or repetitive. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'he' to refer to 'people' or 'individuals' in general. While there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion, the flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and a lack of sophisticated linking words. Improving the variety and accuracy of transition signals would significantly enhance the coherence of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'highly best way', 'gives interest to it', and 'adds' (used instead of 'advertisements'). The student relies on basic vocabulary and struggles to use more precise or academic terms. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the persistent errors in word formation and usage prevent the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, the student should focus on learning collocations and synonyms for common words to avoid repetition and increase precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Few member', 'my father have'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many run-on sentences and missing commas. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be distracting and demonstrate a lack of control over basic grammatical rules. To improve, the student needs to focus on subject-verb agreement, consistent tense usage, and proper sentence boundary punctuation to ensure that complex ideas are expressed accurately.
