Student answer (Band 6.5)

Few individuals argue that promotions are highly profitable at convincing us to purchase goods. While, others believe that advertising is so ordinary that we don't pay attention to it. I strongly believe, promotions are extremely essential to sell things. This essay highlights the positive effects and negative effect of advertising the goods and not to invest in it.

On the one hand, in today's digital era it is vey easy to promote things and make the brand valuable. To make a product more iconic, advertising plays an important role due to this a product will get more visible and the demand will boost of it. However, it totally depends on the quality and reliability of the product that how much it will get used.

For instance, One of the most well known brand Campa is in full flesh nowadays because of it's advertising strategies the company publish it in IPL tournament and give the front face to promote it to an Indian actor.

On the other hand, the product get failed when it is not promoted in the right direction. People overlook holdings they are outdated now. This type of investments are less profitable to a company. Moreover, it also depends on the main character that who is promoting the product it might get failed to get attention of the people. For instance, last year one perfume brand got noticed on social media but after some time it totally got disappear this is because of not implementing the good strategies of advertising.

In conclusion, advertising the products in good way it will definitely attract us and influence us to purchase it. However, it is difficult to promote goods when it not advertise in appropriate manner it will failed for sure.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal position. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that advertising is essential for brand visibility, the explanation remains superficial. For instance, the example of the 'Campa' brand is relevant but lacks depth in explaining why it is successful beyond just 'advertising strategies'. The second body paragraph attempts to discuss why advertising fails, but the reasoning is slightly repetitive and lacks a clear link to the prompt's suggestion that people 'no longer pay attention'. To improve, ensure each point is fully extended with clear logical steps rather than just stating that something is 'good' or 'bad'.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, the internal cohesion within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical or slightly disjointed. For example, the sentence 'For instance, One of the most well known brand Campa is in full flesh...' lacks a smooth connection to the preceding sentence. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the use of 'it' in 'it will failed for sure', where the antecedent is ambiguous. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clear pronoun references would enhance the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'digital era', 'iconic', 'reliability', and 'strategies'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'promotions are highly profitable at convincing' (persuasive is better) and 'in full flesh' (an incorrect idiom). There are also some minor spelling and grammatical slips, such as 'holdings' (likely meaning billboards) and 'it's' (possessive 'its' is required). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding informal or incorrect idiomatic expressions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and sentence construction, such as 'the product get failed' (should be 'fails') and 'it is difficult to promote goods when it not advertise' (should be 'when it is not advertised'). Punctuation is also problematic, particularly with comma splices and missing articles. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. You should focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and ensuring that verb tenses and passive voice constructions are used correctly.
