Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the response is 224 words, failing to meet the 250-word minimum requirement. This under-length significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments, while relevant, lack the depth and extension required for a higher band. The conclusion is also quite abrupt. To improve, you should expand on your examples—for instance, by explaining exactly how targeted ads influence specific demographics—and ensure your introduction and conclusion are more fully developed to meet the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. You use transition signals such as 'On the one hand', 'In addition', and 'Furthermore' to guide the reader through your arguments. However, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is slightly mechanical. Additionally, the final paragraph is very brief, which disrupts the overall flow. To improve, ensure that your concluding paragraph summarizes your main points more effectively and provides a more substantial final thought to round off the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'advertising fatigue', 'promotional messages', and 'consumer choices' appropriately. There are some minor errors, such as 'I am favour in former notion' (should be 'I am in favor of the former notion') and 'but items' (a typo for 'buy items'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, it lacks the variety and precision of less common lexical items that would elevate the score. Focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring accuracy in your word choices.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'While some people believe that..., others argue that...'. Your control of grammar is generally good, though there are some slips, such as the missing comma after 'In conclude' and the lowercase 'i' in the final sentence. There are also minor punctuation and phrasing issues throughout, such as the double space after 'use' in the second paragraph. To reach a higher band, aim for more consistent accuracy in complex structures and ensure your proofreading catches minor mechanical errors.
