Advertising has become an increasingly more common as compared to the past years. While some people believe that advertising is highly beneficial at persuading customers to purchase products, others argue that this method is old now and no need to pay attention to it. On the one hand, supporters of former view believe that it is one of the most effective approach to enrich large customers. Due to advertising, many individuals know more about the product and its specification, which can create desire among customers to buy items. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'content marketing' as an alternative to advertising is mentioned but not fully explained in terms of why it makes traditional advertising ineffective. The conclusion reiterates the position but introduces a slightly repetitive justification. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your examples with more depth, explaining the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims rather than just stating them. The response is relevant and covers all parts of the prompt, but the depth of analysis is inconsistent.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'supporters of former view' (missing an article) and 'advocates of latter view'. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear; for example, in the third paragraph, the phrase 'it can make it old' is ambiguous as it is unclear what 'it' refers to. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'persuading', 'specification', and 'customer behaviour'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'enrich large customers' (which is confusing) and 'everyone has familiar with this' (should be 'everyone is familiar'). You also use 'sells' as a noun instead of 'sales'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, the errors in word choice and the lack of more sophisticated, academic collocations prevent a higher score. Focus on learning word families and common collocations to improve precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'advertising has become an increasingly more common' (redundant 'more'), 'which can helps' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'everyone has familiar' (incorrect auxiliary verb). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor slips throughout. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing the number of error-free sentences will significantly boost your score in this criterion.
