Student answer (Band 6.0)
Advertising has become increasingly common as compared to the past years. While some people believe that advertising is highly beneficial at persuading customers to purchase products, others argue that this method is outdated now and there is no need to pay attention to it. This essay will examine both perspectives along with valid reasons and appropriate examples in the following paragraphs.
On the one hand, supporters of the former view believe that it is one of the most effective approaches to rich large customers. Due to advertising, many individuals know more about the product and its specification, which can create desire among customers to buy items. For instance, mobile manufacturing companies such as Apple and Vivo, they run new mobile phone advertisements on different platforms such as TVs, which can helps to reach large audience. Moreover, it helps to change the customer behaviour by showing the constant advertisements. As a result, customers buy the product, which helps businesses to increase their sales and earn more profit through this.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both viewpoints and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of mobile manufacturing and digital marketing alternatives. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'outdated' advertising could be more deeply explored by discussing the psychological impact of ad-fatigue rather than just listing SEO as an alternative. The position is consistent, but the supporting arguments lack the depth required for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand,' 'Moreover,' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'which can helps to reach large audience' and 'everyone has familiar with this.' The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother to achieve a more natural progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range expected at higher levels. There are several instances of word-choice errors or awkward collocations, such as 'rich large customers' (likely meaning 'reach'), 'out-fashioned' (instead of 'outdated' or 'obsolete'), and 'rich large leads.' While the meaning is clear, the range is somewhat limited and repetitive, preventing a higher score in this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'which can helps to reach' (subject-verb agreement), 'everyone has familiar with this' (incorrect auxiliary verb), and 'content regarding product post on social media' (missing verb/preposition). While the errors do not prevent understanding, they are frequent enough to limit the score to the 5.5–6.0 range.
