Student answer (Band 5.5)

I agree with the both opinion, that some people say that advertising is highly successful that convincing us to buy the products. and other people think that advertising is so normal that we no longer pay focus to it. now i am going to explain the both views and opinion as well.

Firstly, I strongly agree that advertising is extremely successful which convince the people to buy the things. Now a days we see every seller doing marketing of his products through physically on sign board and digitaly on digital boards. in the current situation advertising of products on social media platform such as Facebook and Instagram plays an important role to make the seller successful because customers like to buy the product through advertising. For instance, I am a ecommerce seller on ebay and selling the products in the uk market. i made my business succsessful through the advertising procedure.

Secondly, I do not agree with that the advertising is so common today and nobody like to pay attention on it. The main reason of this that a customer who want the desired product when he see the product through advertising then definitely convince to buy it. We can say those people who do not need the product they can ignore the advertisement but not the needy people. Advertising helps the customer to make the buying decision convenience regarding his desired product.

Conclusion, Advertising is still highly successful that convince the people to buy products. and also in the future no individual will be able to sell their items and make their business successful without advertising.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide a personal example regarding your e-commerce business, the analysis of why some people might ignore advertising (the second view) is underdeveloped and relies on a simple distinction between 'needy' and 'non-needy' people. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the psychological or societal reasons why consumers might become desensitized to advertising, such as information overload or the prevalence of ad-blockers. The position is consistent, but the depth of argument is insufficient for a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'For instance'. However, the flow between sentences is often mechanical, and some transitions are awkward, such as starting the conclusion with 'Conclusion,' instead of a full phrase like 'In conclusion,'. Additionally, the use of referencing is sometimes unclear, and the connection between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'successful' and 'advertising', and some word choices are inaccurate, such as 'doing marketing of his products' instead of 'marketing his products' or 'physically on sign board' instead of 'via physical billboards'. There are also minor errors in word formation, such as 'digitaly'. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated synonyms and collocations related to business and consumer behavior, and ensure you are using the correct parts of speech.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'in the uk market'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'which convince' instead of 'which convinces'), and punctuation errors, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters or using periods incorrectly. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on subject-verb agreement, proper article usage, and sentence boundary punctuation.
