Student answer (Band 5.5)
Advertising is everywhere in the modren life . while some believe it strongly and influence our buying decisions , others argue that people have become immune to it . in this eassy i will discuss both perspective . I believe that advertising is such a good thing to permote your business or the specific product . If we start a business and we dont advertise it then how people will know that i start my business so if we launch any product we have to advertise it so people will know and buy it even the popular brand advertise their products through TV Ads and social media and also from billboards . Some people do by online and by newspaper.
Moreover , the brands who ignore advertising cannot grow their business , that is the main reason why business does not grow . we ignore it for example when we watch any youtube video the adds comes after every minutes but we dose not focus it and try to click the skip button immediately . People just trust the brands that are very popular or those brands where are the famous actor are .
In my opinion , advertising is still effective but inly if it is creative . although we ignore adds a powerful adds can still persude us and make us to purchase that item or product . so the main thing is to promote a product like that that peoples love. Its not just about making an add , its also matter that how you are performing it .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention that advertising is necessary for business growth and that people often ignore ads, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. For instance, the point about 'famous actors' is mentioned but not fully explored in relation to the effectiveness of persuasion. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your reasoning with more detailed explanations or real-world examples. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments need more substance to fully satisfy the requirements of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and sometimes mechanical. Phrases like 'Moreover' are used, but the transition between sentences is often abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed. Additionally, there are issues with punctuation and sentence structure that occasionally hinder the logical progression of ideas. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence connects smoothly to the next, rather than relying on simple, repetitive structures.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite basic and repetitive. You use words like 'business', 'product', and 'advertise' frequently. There are also some errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'modren', 'permote', 'adds' (instead of 'ads'), and 'inly'. To achieve a higher score, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and more precise collocations. For example, instead of repeating 'good thing', you could use 'effective strategy' or 'essential tool'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('business does not grow', 'adds comes'), incorrect verb forms ('we dose not focus'), and missing articles or incorrect word order. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors impact the overall quality of the writing. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring that your sentence structures are varied and correctly punctuated.
