Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding the benefits of advertising are somewhat repetitive and lack specific examples, while the points about why people ignore ads (busy schedules and lack of trust) are underdeveloped. The essay touches upon the required parts of the prompt, but the reasoning is often vague, such as the mention of 'damaged' items, which does not fully explore the psychological aspect of why consumers might ignore advertising. To improve, you should provide more detailed explanations and concrete examples for each viewpoint.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'To commence with' and 'Nevertheless, few another alternative also there'. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, making the flow of the argument feel disjointed. While there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive nature of some transitions limit the coherence of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'constructives' instead of 'benefits', 'assitful' (non-existent word), and 'in this conception'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of variety and the misuse of certain terms prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on learning collocations and using a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to marketing and consumer behaviour.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('some individuals thinks'), incorrect sentence structure ('it is generally considered by some individuals thinks about that'), and misuse of articles and prepositions. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, these are often faulty and contain errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. The control over basic grammar is inconsistent, and punctuation is sometimes neglected. To improve, you must focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex structures.
