Student answer (Band 5.5)

[15/08/2026, 3:38:16 PM] Hassan : Advertisement has being popular for every individuals,as it provides the multiple facilities with free of cost.T.V adds displays the new items which are being introduced in a supermarket, nevertheless advertising is totally waste of money since shops gives the details of each product.

There are two main reasons which I discussed in this essay.Firstly,it is extremely beneficial that these adds provides numerous option of daily groceries buying from market.Especially the new items which are introduced recently, plus the discounted price of that particular thing. The items are being shown before they are displayed on large shops such as imtiaz, naheed supermarket. Moreover,I firmly believed that many house workers bought their grocery items which has being shared on T.V adds because it is simple to select items with few minutes. On the other hand, the second reason to persuade citizens to bought things which are illustrated on adds, clothes, shoes, makeups objects are fashionable in our society and give us the detailed of that particular thing such as when it is launched, how far is popular in our country, the reviews of that object.

As far I am concerned, few person suggest that advertising is not popular as much in our hometown because it provides the items which are not sold in the company and it is totally waste of time by watching the adds on mobile.I believed that this statement has poor reviews because advertisement provides a lot of benefit for house worker to buy things which are shown on adds.

Overall, due to advertisement a lot of individuals get benefit from these small ads but it also concludes with time consuming to watch ads while interested in movie scene.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, though the development is uneven. You discuss the persuasive nature of advertising and the counter-argument that it is ignored, but the ideas are often repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the argument that advertising is a 'waste of money' is mentioned in the introduction but not fully explored in the body paragraphs. Your position is clear, but the supporting arguments are somewhat simplistic and rely on generalisations about 'house workers' and specific supermarket names, which limits the academic tone required for Task 2. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea supported by clear reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'As far I am concerned' is grammatically incorrect, and the transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the link between 'small ads' and 'movie scene' is confusing. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'Moreover' and 'On the other hand', the flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors, which hinders the overall progression of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety expected at higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'items', 'things', and 'popular', and there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'house workers' (likely meaning homemakers or consumers) and 'makeups objects'. Spelling errors, such as 'adds' instead of 'ads', occur throughout the text. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use more sophisticated vocabulary related to marketing and consumer behaviour and ensure that words are used in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('shops gives', 'adds provides'), verb tense ('has being popular', 'has being shared'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, and there is a lack of complex sentence structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high density of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on fundamental sentence construction and proofreading for tense consistency is essential.
