In the contemporary era, advertisements may create a notion among societies. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the first body paragraph lists reasons for advertising's success but lacks depth in explaining how these factors translate into consumer behavior. The second body paragraph provides a relevant example regarding movie interruptions, which is a strength. The conclusion reiterates the main points, but the argument could be more nuanced. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with clear logical links rather than just listing factors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'However', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'Therefore, individuals mind diverted to creative contents'. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences lack smooth flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the overall coherence of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'information overload' and 'contemporary era'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'advertising can easily manipulated people' (should be 'manipulate') and 'individuals mind diverted' (should be 'individuals' minds are diverted'). The range is sufficient for the task, but more precise and varied vocabulary would be needed to achieve a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'advertisements can easily convinced us' (should be 'convince'), 'representation by celebrities and cravings of buying somthing' (missing verb/structure), and 'Sometime people may avoid advertising because information overload' (missing preposition 'of'). These errors are noticeable and occur in both simple and complex structures, though they do not typically impede communication. More attention to subject-verb agreement and preposition usage is required.
