Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments provided, such as 'advertisements help the public for details' or 'location of shops', are somewhat superficial and lack depth. The explanation of why people might ignore advertisements is also unclear and lacks logical support. While the position is stated in the introduction, the supporting arguments in the body paragraphs are under-developed and do not fully explore the complexities of the topic. To improve, you should provide more specific examples and logical reasoning to support your claims.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'To commence with', 'However', 'To conclude'), they are often used mechanically or incorrectly. For instance, the transition 'To proved' is grammatically incorrect and does not effectively link the ideas. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks a clear focus, with sentences often feeling disconnected from one another.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The range of vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'media workers needs goods quality of gadgets' and 'presentation going on in the near society'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. While you attempt to use some academic vocabulary, the lack of precision and the incorrect usage of terms like 'forthcoming fragment' suggest a need for a more natural and accurate command of English vocabulary. Focusing on learning collocations rather than isolated words would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'advertisements helps', 'media workers needs'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'they may be take'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'This essay will outlined'). Punctuation is also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the high frequency of errors makes the text difficult to read at times. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like tense consistency and pluralisation.
