Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. While you mention the role of advertising in informing consumers and the phenomenon of 'ad blindness,' the arguments lack depth. For instance, the example of the 'GOG soap' is relevant but could be more effectively integrated to support the argument about ad fatigue. The response covers all parts of the prompt, but the explanation of why advertising is successful or why it is ignored remains at a surface level, preventing a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'First and foremast reason is introduce product' and 'To explain it' are used in a way that disrupts the flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'Firstly I provoked people to use its,' where the subject pronoun usage is confusing. The progression of ideas is present but lacks the sophisticated linking required for higher bands.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision needed for a higher score. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'provoke people to buy' (instead of 'persuade' or 'encourage') and 'ficture' (likely meaning 'features'). The phrase 'advertisements did not attention people' is grammatically incorrect and uses 'attention' as a verb, which is not standard. You rely on basic vocabulary, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items used with precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('advertisements did not attention'), article usage ('The Apple company'), and sentence fragments ('First and foremast reason is introduce product'). Complex structures are attempted but are often faulty, such as 'Although their phone is working well but they want this.' The majority of sentences contain errors, and the control over basic grammar is inconsistent, which limits the score in this criterion.
