Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion, meeting the requirements of the prompt. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of psychological triggers and ad-blocking software. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The conclusion is underdeveloped and contains repetitive phrasing, which weakens the overall impact of the argument. To improve, ensure that the conclusion synthesizes the main points more effectively rather than simply restating them. The position is clear throughout, but the final paragraph lacks the depth required for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into distinct paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'On one hand', 'Additionally', and 'For instance' are used to guide the reader. However, there are some issues with mechanical cohesion and awkward transitions, such as 'Following this, Others Content that...'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the final conclusion is fragmented and lacks the necessary cohesive structure to effectively summarize the preceding arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, with some good attempts at topic-specific terms like 'pervasive', 'demographic', 'saturation', and 'desensitization'. However, there are several spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'sheet volume' (instead of 'sheer'), 'relevent', 'approch', and 'diminsh'. Additionally, the phrase 'advertising advertisement' is repetitive and suggests a lack of precision. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey meaning, these errors and the limited variety in word choice prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for spelling and refining word collocations will help improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('other believes', 'people is bombard') and punctuation mistakes (e.g., 'ad's- blocking'). The sentence 'it its effective is increasingly challenged' is grammatically incorrect and confusing. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors indicates a lack of control over more complex structures. To reach a higher band, you should focus on ensuring subject-verb agreement and refining the use of articles and prepositions, as well as proofreading for minor slips.
