Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some argue that advertising is a successful way to convince people to buy goods. On other side some think that it is a temporary way that individuals do not pay attention to it. From my perspective in today era advertising is such a good way to attract people. however, in this paragraph i will discuss both views.
On one hand, there is a two main reason why people believe that a advertising is most working way to attract people. Firstly, nowadays most of individual use social media for their entertainment. For example, most of youngsters use mobile phone and watch television by advertisement on social media companies can easily sell their products. Secondly, by advertising company can attract their customer. For example, while showing ad companies can easily show the features and quality of products that people do not need to visit their store.
One other hand, some thinks that is a common way that one cannot pay much attention to it, because today generation have a lot of options regarding goods so they do not pay attention to one advertisement. For example, youngsters have a habit of scrolling reels on Instagram so while scrolling they do not pay that much attention to it. Moreover, there are a lot of companies involve in advertisement. For instance, there are a significant competition in field of advertisement individuals are watching different advertisement on daily basis while watching daily advertising they easily get bored from it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion, which is a positive aspect. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding why people ignore advertisements is mentioned but lacks depth, relying on repetitive examples like 'scrolling reels'. The explanation of why advertising is successful is also quite basic. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning or specific real-world examples rather than just stating that people 'get bored'. The position is clear throughout, but the overall development of the arguments remains at a basic level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On one hand', 'Firstly', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the transition between ideas is abrupt. For example, the shift from discussing social media to the quality of products feels disjointed. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the phrase 'it is a temporary way' in the introduction, which does not clearly link back to the prompt's idea of advertising being common or ignored. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive terms like 'good way', 'attract', and 'advertisement'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'most working way' instead of 'most effective method' and 'today era' instead of 'the modern era'. While your meaning is always clear, the lack of less common vocabulary and the occasional misuse of words limit your score in this criterion. Try to incorporate more topic-specific synonyms and collocations to demonstrate a wider range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include article misuse ('a advertising', 'the advertisement'), subject-verb agreement ('some thinks'), and pluralisation errors ('most of individual'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of capital letters at the start of sentences and the misuse of commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for small errors like articles and plurals would be very beneficial.
