Student answer (Band 5.0)

some people say that advertising is important and successful at persuading us to buy things but other thinks that it is no important . personally i think that advertising a product has many benefits for a company for example if they call a famous personality for advertising their product then their all followers would buy these thing ,they thinks that when our idol uses this product then we will , in this way there number of sells become double , but i think that people did not trust their idols blindly , they should check this product first if it is beneficial for them or not

from the second side people who pay no attention to advertising think that advertising is not important at all ,I think it might not true advertising is important for all the products because it gives a larger impact on some body and they change their thinking level of one's company , for example i did not a laptop from a website because i think it might be a scam , after few days my favourite personality advertise the same laptop on this website , so i change my way about this company and order the same laptop .

in conclusion i say that advertising of a product is important for some one , it might change the customers way of thinking and also increase the value of product . it might be important for company .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, but the development is limited. The arguments are somewhat repetitive and rely heavily on a single personal anecdote rather than broader analysis. The response is also under the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the depth of the discussion. While the position is clear, the supporting ideas lack the necessary elaboration to reach a higher band. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is weak. Transitions between ideas are often abrupt or missing, such as the jump from the introduction to the body paragraphs. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic and sometimes repetitive manner (e.g., 'for example', 'in conclusion'). The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of the argument. Paragraphing is present but lacks sophistication.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. Words like 'important', 'product', and 'advertising' are used frequently. There is little attempt to use less common lexical items or idiomatic language. Some word choices are inaccurate, such as 'thinking level of one's company' or 'change my way about this company', which hinders precision. The range is sufficient for basic communication but lacks the flexibility required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('other thinks', 'they thinks'), article usage, and sentence structure. Punctuation is inconsistent, with many run-on sentences and missing commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the errors are pervasive and distract the reader. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the simple sentences used often contain errors, which limits the score.
