Student answer (Band 5.5)

According to some individuals, advertisement is extremely successful. Way to persuade people to buy things. But according to few individuals, advertisement is just a common way. So it's not important to pay attention on it. This essay will sidelight on both views, along with my opinion.

On the one hand advertisement is such an important way to manipulate people for buying a different things. As many businessmen and salesperson use this method to increase their sale and do promotion of their products so that they can retain more customers. Those advertisement is very important method in a business Which a rich businessman used to grow their business , and it helps them a lot to get more profit and attract more customers and increase their business overall.

On the other hand some individuals believe that advertisement is such a common way. So, there is no need to pay attention or get attracted with it. Because some businessmen do froat, as they give fake benefits elements regarding their product so we can't fully Trust them. In my opinion in some situations, we can trust advertisement. But there are also some situations where we can't trust on advertisement. So first of all, we have to go in the depth of that product. It's our responsibility to know about the product benefits its usage and its quality. We should not completely rely on the advertisement. But if a person want to trust to advertisement , then he should have knowledge about the company so that he can trust on it

In conclusion advertisement is a important way to promote a product and expand the business in different branches all over the world. But there are also several drawbacks of advertisement , so we can't fully trust on them

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding why advertising is successful or why it is ignored are somewhat repetitive and lack specific examples or depth. For instance, the mention of 'froat' (fraud) is a relevant point, but it is not expanded upon sufficiently to demonstrate a strong grasp of the topic. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments remain at a surface level, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. Phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used correctly, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are often abrupt. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall flow is hindered by repetitive sentence structures and a lack of sophisticated linking words. The conclusion is brief and does not effectively synthesise the points made in the body paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'sidelight' instead of 'shed light', 'froat' instead of 'fraud', and 'benefits elements'. The repetition of basic words like 'advertisement', 'business', and 'trust' limits the lexical variety. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or academic vocabulary prevents a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'Those advertisement is very important method' (subject-verb agreement) and 'if a person want to trust to advertisement' (preposition and verb form errors). Punctuation is inconsistent, particularly with the placement of full stops and commas. These frequent errors, while not completely impeding communication, occur throughout the text and indicate a lack of control over complex grammatical forms.
