Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which severely limits the development of ideas. While the essay attempts to address both views, the discussion is superficial and lacks the necessary depth to meet the requirements of the prompt. The conclusion is missing entirely, as the text ends abruptly mid-sentence. Because the response is incomplete and fails to develop the arguments sufficiently, it does not address all parts of the task effectively. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words, provide a clear introduction, fully develop each viewpoint with supporting examples, and include a concluding paragraph that summarises your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no clear paragraphing, and the progression of ideas is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is minimal and often mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'and' to join ideas. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. To improve, you should organize your essay into distinct paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs (one for each view), and a conclusion. Use linking words like 'furthermore', 'however', 'consequently', and 'on the other hand' to connect your ideas logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'play add' instead of 'place ads' and 'costumer' instead of 'customer'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to discuss the topic with any precision. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to marketing and consumer behavior. Try to avoid repeating the same words and practice using synonyms to add variety to your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'they have two different opinion', and sentence structure is often fragmented or run-on. Punctuation is also inconsistent, and there is a lack of complex sentence structures. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and pluralization. Once you have a solid foundation, practice incorporating complex sentences using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions to demonstrate a wider range of grammatical control.
