Student answer (Band 5.0)
What is advertising ? Advertising is the method that the company use to sell their product to the market. Advertisment gives a personal satisfaction abhout the product to buy it and convinced us that product is good and usefull to us . this method is th one of most successful method in the market to sell the product.
This is one type of virus which gets popluar very fast in the market . Advertising show the product quality ,pricing and detail about that product . Advertising control our brain that the product is good you need it and you have to buy it .This is reason that the advertising is very successfull in concicing the people to buy their product. Now on the other side the some people dont get the attraction to advertise because the are geted bored after seeing that one and one advertisment of the product and they have knowledge about the product in advertistment and in real are different so they don't get attention to any type of advertisment. Some people things that advertistment is the common everywhere if the company have to sell a small product they also start the advertisment of it so this is the reason that the advetisment is so common and some peopel don't give serious attention to advertisment. In my perspective advertisment is good but only real advertisment today company does not give as same product as per advertisment so this is the major problem that customer does not get that which thay had seen on ad.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. For example, the argument that advertising is a 'virus' is an interesting metaphor but is not fully explored or linked back to the prompt's core tension. The discussion on why people ignore advertisements is clear, but the supporting points lack depth and specific examples. To improve, you should aim to provide more nuanced explanations for each perspective and ensure your own opinion is clearly stated in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure, with ideas grouped into two long, dense paragraphs rather than a standard introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and repetitive way, such as the frequent use of 'this is the reason that'. There is a lack of logical progression between sentences, making the flow feel disjointed. To improve, you should use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'conversely', 'consequently') and ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed main idea to improve the overall readability of your response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, with several spelling errors such as 'abhout', 'usefull', 'popluar', and 'advertistment'. The word choice is basic and sometimes inaccurate, such as using 'virus' to describe advertising or 'geted bored' instead of 'become bored'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the high frequency of errors in spelling and word formation hinder the overall impact of your writing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations and focusing on accurate spelling will significantly improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'company use', 'advertising show'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'the some people dont get the attraction'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and incorrect capitalization. While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of errors and the lack of complex sentence structures limit the score. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement.
