Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. But some people has their own points of view and they considered, advertisings have become famous in society and now it has no further need to attention. Although consumers have become more selective, advertising remains highly recommended.

On the one hand, advertising plays an important role in the digital marketing. In the modern era, advertising only visible according to your interest and choices. For example, if someone is interesting in shoes and he search for best running shoes, then advertising automatically filtered every individuals interests and starts to show the same shoes of the different brands and companies. It also proves best for saving time and money. If a uneducated person went to market for shoes purchasing, it may loss the online discount opportunity, and he also become the reason of time wastage. So it proves that online purchasing through platforms saves the money and precious time.

On the other hand, it is argued that people has now less interested in the online advertising purchasing. It can be several reason, but one of them that now fraud activities and reached at the highest level of interest. For example, almost one year ago a purchase a watch online and then I received and parcel, it was as just designing card of letter. As usual a lot of people has faces this type of activities, what why people don't trust online purchasing and prefer to buy physically.

In conclusion, if companies focus on marketing rather than earning money, so it can better for then to reach out the customers easily. But they just focus on earning dollars, which ruin the trust of digital marketing in society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, though the development is uneven. The first view is supported by a general example about online shopping, but the second view relies heavily on a personal anecdote ('a purchase a watch online') rather than a broader discussion of the phenomenon. The position is clear, but the arguments lack depth and analytical rigor. The conclusion is somewhat repetitive and does not fully synthesize the points made. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph explores the implications of the argument rather than focusing solely on personal experience, and ensure the conclusion provides a more comprehensive summary of the debate.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt at logical progression. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'what why people don't trust' or 'so it can better for then'. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, which hinders the flow of the argument. While the paragraphing is present, the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the sophisticated linking required for higher bands. Improving the variety and accuracy of transition signals would significantly enhance the readability of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word-choice errors, such as 'no further need to attention', 'uneducated person', and 'designing card of letter'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on basic terms rather than more academic or topic-specific collocations. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning more precise synonyms and collocations related to marketing and consumer behavior, and pay closer attention to word forms and parts of speech.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('some people has', 'people has now less interested'), article usage, and tense consistency ('a purchase a watch'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the high frequency of errors makes the writing feel unpolished and occasionally difficult to follow. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement and tense consistency would be a beneficial next step for improvement.
