Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 165 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, which remain superficial and under-developed. While both views are mentioned and a personal opinion is provided, the lack of depth prevents a full discussion. The arguments regarding the effectiveness of advertising and the tendency to ignore it are stated but not supported with sufficient detail or logical expansion. To improve, you must elaborate on your points with specific examples, explanations, and a more thorough exploration of the topic to meet the length requirement and demonstrate a higher level of critical thinking.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On one hand' and 'On the other hand' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical, and the transitions between sentences are occasionally abrupt. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting evidence that flows logically into the next point.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You use words like 'attractive' and 'advertisements' multiple times, which limits the range of your expression. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'usefull', 'exmaple', 'igonre', and 'benifiet', which detract from the overall quality of the writing. To achieve a higher band score, you should aim to use a more varied range of vocabulary, including synonyms and less common collocations, and pay closer attention to spelling accuracy to ensure your writing appears professional and polished.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'advertisements can affect to people', 'they made use of', and 'more number of advertisements become ignore'. These errors, while not always impeding communication, are frequent enough to be noticeable. The use of articles and verb forms needs improvement. To progress, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement. Try to incorporate more complex structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, but ensure they are used accurately.
