Student answer (Band 6.0)
Advertising has become a common part in today's modern life. Some people thinks that it is successful in motivating people to purchase things and different products while others believe that advertising is very common and no longer interesting to pay attention to it. In my opinion advertising plays an important role for any business which provides services and some companies sell products through marketing and advertisement. I will discuss both of the views in coming paragraphs.
First on the one hand advertising is very important for businesses. People knows about products and commitments of company through advertisement. Marketing people make handsome money through social media apps because these apps engaged very large number of audience. Young people nowadays are becoming financial independent by do freelancing and e commerce business which only depends on advertising on social media platforms by running ads of their services. For example many well known companies advertising their ads on big screens and also hanging their flexes on billboards.
On the other hand some people are no longer paying attention because they think that it is so common and also irritating at the same time to see advertisements too many times. Advertising adds are now running everywhere on television, mobile phones and on roads. That is the reason people become may less interested in them. Many people simply skip online advertisement and change television channel when an advertisement starts. In addition people can easily compare products and read reviews online before buying something.
To conclude that although people often ignore advertisements, they are still an effective way for companies to influence customers. A creative and useful advertisement can attract attention and make a product more memorable. However advertisements that are repeated too often are likely to be ignored.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on advertising—its effectiveness in persuading buyers and the counter-argument that it is too common to be noticed—while also including a clear personal opinion. The student's position is maintained throughout the essay and reiterated in the conclusion. Ideas are generally relevant, although some points, particularly in the body paragraphs, tend to be slightly repetitive or under-developed. For instance, the discussion on young people doing freelance work relies on a loose connection to advertising. Nevertheless, the main arguments regarding consumer fatigue and business utility are adequately presented, fulfilling the core requirements of Task Response for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a logical progression of ideas across paragraphs. An introduction sets the stage, followed by two distinct body paragraphs tackling opposing views, and a suitable conclusion. However, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or over-used, as seen with transitional phrases like 'First on the one hand' and 'On the other hand'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and paragraphing could be improved by avoiding slightly abrupt transitions. Furthermore, the introduction's roadmap sentence ('I will discuss both of the views in coming paragraphs') is somewhat formulaic. Overall, the organizational structure meets the criteria for a solid Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'freelancing', 'e commerce business', and 'memorable'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word forms. Examples include 'common part in today's modern life' instead of 'common feature', 'handsome money' instead of 'good money' or 'substantial profits', and 'advertising their ads' instead of 'placing advertisements'. Spelling and morphological errors, such as 'financial independent' instead of 'financially independent' and 'Advertising adds', slightly detract from the quality of the response. These errors do not impede communication, placing the vocabulary safely at a Band 6.0 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and there are frequent basic errors. Examples of errors include subject-verb agreement issues like 'Some people thinks' instead of 'think', missing articles ('on television', 'change television channel'), and incorrect prepositions ('by do freelancing' instead of 'by doing freelancing'). Punctuation is also lacking in places, notably missing commas after introductory phrases and clauses. While complex sentences are attempted, they are often accompanied by errors that require the reader to occasionally re-read parts of the text. This aligns with the Band 5.5 to 6.0 profile, earning a Band 5.5.
