IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some people say that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. Other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Advertisement Play an important role in today's industrial world. It is not new technique, it is applying from centuries through different methods.
In some people prespective edvertisement has high success rate while in other's prespective it has no such impact.
Let's go through both views, In the first prespective, now a days everyone is relly on social media, new fashions and trends which are influesed by social media influencers, many people loves tham and follow the fashions they fellow and big companies take the advantege of this they pay to the influencers and send there product to review them and suggest there followers to buy it on so some discount code of that infleuencers by this company get there advertisement, influencer got there pay for reviewing it and suggestion's of produect and audience get to know by new product, and many people buy that product only because of there favorite influencers suggests it and the perfect advertisemnet startegy goes on, there are many other way of advertisement but in my opinion it is most successfull strategy of advertisement in today's world.
While some other people think there it is really somon that no one pays attentention to it, I guess it is type of correct because it depend on techniques how you advertising your product, let's suppose are are advertising through youtube add, its so irritating beacuse someone is watching a drama or a match it between of that intense scn some add apear everyone got irritated and skip the add as soon as the skip button apear even though the product is for the problem we are facing like (skin issue, irritation or etc) we just ignore that and skip the button only because of wrong timing.
In my opinion Advertisement Play a vital role and really good success rate, It only depends on the way of advertisement, poeple's interest and needs of peoples.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on advertising and providing a clear personal opinion. The writer explains why advertising can be perceived as extremely successful, citing social media influencers and discount codes, and also considers the alternative view that people ignore ads due to poor timing or annoyance, such as YouTube interruptions. However, the development of ideas lacks academic depth and tends to rely on overly conversational phrasing, such as 'Let's go through both views'. Furthermore, some arguments are repetitive and drift into narrative examples rather than analytical discussion. While the position is clear throughout, the support for the ideas remains somewhat limited and under-developed, placing the response securely in the Band 5 to 6 range. Task Achievement is awarded a band score of 5.5 because the ideas are relevant and all parts of the prompt are addressed, but the depth and formal extension of arguments are restricted.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The essay displays an attempt at organisation, but the overall progression is heavily hindered by unusual paragraphing and extreme run-on sentences. The central body paragraph is a single, extraordinarily long sentence structure that contains multiple ideas without appropriate full-stop punctuation or logical segmentation. Cohesive devices are either missing or used very mechanically, such as repetitive use of comma splices like '...companies take the advantege of this they pay...'. Paragraphing is also poorly managed; the essay lumps major contrasting views and the writer's opinion into unstructured blocks rather than distinct, well-signposted paragraphs. Although the reader can discern the overall intent, the structural cohesion is frequently faulty and lacks clarity in referencing. Based on these descriptors, Coherence and Cohesion warrants a band score of 4.5, reflecting features of both Band 4 and Band 5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms like 'industrial world', 'influencers', and 'discount code'. However, there are frequent spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, such as 'prespective' instead of perspective, 'relly' instead of rely, 'influesed' instead of influenced, 'advantege' instead of advantage, and 'somon' instead of common. Less common lexical items are attempted, but they are often inaccurate in form or collocation. The repetition of basic words like 'advertisement', 'product', and 'strategy' further restricts the lexical range. Because the vocabulary errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text while still allowing the core message to be understood, this criterion aligns best with Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammatical range is extremely limited, characterised by an absence of proper sentence boundaries and a heavy reliance on comma splices and run-on structures. For example, the sentence beginning with 'In the first prespective...' continues for over a hundred words without a single period, stringing together clauses incorrectly. Simple sentences are attempted, but attempts at complex structures are consistently faulty, lacking correct subordination or conjunction usage. Punctuation is largely neglected, and capitalization errors occur frequently, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters or capitalizing internal words like 'Advertisement Play'. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader and obscure the grammatical relationships between clauses. Consequently, Grammatical Range and Accuracy is rated at a band score of 4.0.
