Student answer (Band 6.0)
Advertising has become an unavoidable part of modern life, appearing on television, social media, websites and even public transport. while some people believe that advertising is highly effective in persuading customers to purchase products, other argue that its constant presence that has made people largely ignoring it. This essay will discuss what the views and i will explain why I believe advertising still has significant influence on consumer behavior.
On the one hand, Advertising can be extremely successful in encouraging people to buy a product. Companies spend large amount of money designing advertisements that appeals to customers emotion and needs. For example, advertisement often use attractive images, popular stars, discounts, and emotional messages to make a product appear more desirable. In addition, target advertising on social media allows companies to show product based on people online searches and interest. As a result, consumers may become interested in product that they had not previously considered buying. therefore, advertising can play an important role in influencing purchasing decision.
On the other hand, People are exposed to advertisements so frequently that many have become less responsive to them. A person may encounter hundreds of advertisements while browsing the Internet, Watching videos or traveling around a city. Consequently, Advertisement can become repetitive and easy to ignore. Advertisement can become repetitive and easy to ignore Particularly when people are focused on another activity. Furthermore, The increasing use of ad blocking software and paid streaming services suggests that many consumer actively try to avoid advertisement. This indicates that advertising does not always have the powerful effect that companies expect.
In my opinion, although People have become more Accustomed Two advertisements and may ignore many of them, advertising remains highly effective of the role. Modern advertising has simply become more sophisticated rather than less influential. Personalized online advertisement, for instance, can reach customer at precisely the time when they are interested in a particular product.
In a nutshell, while the enormous amount of advertising people encounter every day can cause them to ignore many advertisements, effective and targeted advertising continues to influence consumer choices. I therefore believe that advertising remains a powerful tool for persuading people to buy products.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that advertising is persuasive and that it is too common to be noticed—while also presenting a clear personal opinion. The introduction outlines the essay's direction, and both body paragraphs present relevant arguments supported by examples such as targeted social media ads and ad-blocking software. However, some ideas could be extended further; for instance, the conclusion and final parts of the body paragraphs repeat concepts rather than adding new depth. Nevertheless, the position is well-maintained throughout, aligning comfortably with the Band 7 descriptor for addressing all parts of the prompt with a clear position and supported ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure, utilizing a traditional four-to-five-paragraph essay format with an introduction, two body paragraphs, a conclusion, and a brief summary sentence. Logical organisation is generally evident, moving smoothly from one perspective to the other, followed by the writer's viewpoint. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In my opinion', though some referencing and mechanical repetition occur, such as repeating the sentence 'Advertisement can become repetitive and easy to ignore.' These minor flaws place the response solidly at Band 6.5, reflecting a coherent overall arrangement with occasional mechanical cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate and generally appropriate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms like 'unavoidable', 'consumer behavior', 'sophisticated', and 'personalized'. There are some word choice and capitalization errors, such as 'other argue that its constant presence that has made people largely ignoring it', 'Accustomed Two', and lowercase letters at inappropriate places like 'while' and 'therefore'. Despite these occasional inaccuracies and spelling slip-ups, the lexical range is sufficient to convey meaning clearly without impeding communication, meriting a Band 6.5 score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, including conditional or participial clauses like 'while some people believe that...' and 'Particularly when people are focused on another activity.' However, there are noticeable grammatical errors and awkward phrasings, such as 'what the views and i will explain', 'large amount of money' (missing plural 'amounts'), 'advertisement often use' (plural/singular mismatch), and capitalization mistakes. Punctuation is occasionally faulty, with run-on structures or unnecessary fragment sentences. Because these errors occur frequently alongside attempts at complex structures, the appropriate band is 6.0.
